• TEACHER IDEA (low stakes = low pressure)

• Using a 10 sided dice, get students to prepare two six digit numbers as follows:

Roll the dice 6 times getting the students to place the number each time (no changes allowed) to try to end up with the highest (or lowest) number possible.

Get students to read out their number and compare answers. Who got the highest, lowest, what was the highest, lowest possible.

Students work in groups of between 2 and 4

Equipment needed: – a dice (10 sided if poss – 6 sided ok)

- A copy of the game board for each player

Rocket

• Draw a rocket with 7 levels as shown• The aim of the game is to fill the rocket with

numbers in order. The closest to a completed rocket wins.

• Two dice will be rolled and you will make a 2 digit number. If a 5 and a 3 are rolled you could choose to use either 53 or 35.

• You must then choose where to put the number between 10 and 67. Once a number has been placed it can not be changed.

• If you cannot place a number you miss that turn.
