Manual cannula breaking is time consuming and can cause Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI) and haemolysis. Our cannula breakers system has proven to be effective: it reduces time and generates reproducibility and standardization.All the opening and mixing functions are fully programmable and controlled by the MacoPress Smart. In order to speed up the whole process, the opening of the 3 cannula breakers is done simultaneously.

PRINCIPLE The MacoPress “Smart” (MPS) is an automate designed for the separation of a whole blood unit into blood components. It is compatible with most of the blood bags available on the market.The MPS can operate as an independent unit or it can be connected to a distant computer and supervised by the Data Management software : DMSX.

DATA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The MacoPress Smart provides full and intuitive data management. The separation programs can be customized directly from the tools menu or through the Data Management Software (DMSX) which enables an online management and offers a complete bidirectional process.

The connection to the computer can be done through:

DMSX features:The DMSX is compatible with Windows 7, 8, 10 (Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 required) and is available in several languages.

It offers the possibility to:

Load the programs on all the MPS at the same time.

Generate new programs of separations and upload them on the MPS.

Modify any existing program of the MPS.

Download the data of each single procedure of separation executed by the MPS

Activate a full bidirectional control

Generate reports based on all recorded separations even applying customizable filters per blood component type, donation n°...

TRACEABILITY

17 parameters can be transmitted from the MacoPress Smart to the DMSX for each separation:

The serial number of the machine

The description of the program

The net weight of each component, including whole blood

The date and time of separation + the duration of the separation

The error codes

The operator ID codes...

MAIN PRESSThe MacoPress Smarter is equipped with 12 active front sensors which, in Top & Bottom separation, detect and stabilize the buffy-coat layer. The design of the sensor array allows a more accurate presetting in order to reach the targeted haematocrit.

The main press has a back glass plate, perfectly flat which allows a better cleaning and a longer lifespan. The main press is electronically motion controlled with a dedicated micro-processor. The parameters controlled are : the speed, the pressure, the position of the buffy coat layer and the sensors.The MacoPress Smart allows a simultaneous extraction of the Plasma and Red Cell Concentrates (Top and Bottomseparation).

SEALING CLAMPS AND OPTICAL DETECTORSThe MPS integrates five waterproof sealing clamps and two optical detectors which control the flow of components and contribute to their production. The optical sensors have an adjustable sensitivity.The sealing clamps have a self-adjusting sealing function and each clamp has a bicolour indicator light, which guides the user through the insertion of the tubes.

COLOUR TOUCHSCREEN DISPLAYThe touchscreen display, back-lighted, with colour graphics, provides an intuitive user interface. Follow the on-screen instructions to easily access work protocols and use or program the machine. The Emergency stop button allows a rapid interruption of the process.

LATERAL PRESSThe lateral press is also electronically motion controlled and is designed for high yield of plasma and air extration.

FLEXIBILITY 30 customizable programs and 1000 separations data can be stored in the MacoPress Smart.

3 different user levels are configured.

Up to 5 integrated scales can record the weights of the blood components, including whole blood.

5 programmable sealing clamps can be set up for automatic or manual operation; and can also be used as separate sealers.

The MacoPress Smart can be used for Top/Top or Top/Bottom separations.
