New Tiger is a new edition of the award-winning series, incorporating a unique supportive blended approach to teaching. Motivating new materials, a strong skills focus and a tried-and-tested methodology boosts communication and builds pupils’ confidence from day one while new digital tools support classroom teaching and pupils’ learning inside Navio’s 3D immersive world.
Two enchanting new characters, Monkey and Mouse, join Tiger and the course characters Jay and Sue in their exciting adventures. Animated stories bring the characters to life and the new-look Tiger puppet gives extra charm to the dialogues. Together with the characters, pupils learn about the world around them through the cross-curricular pages while the new Review sections provide additional animated stories and an opportunity for pupils to consolidate language. Tiger Tasks pages provide language skills practice in an age-appropriate way.
Ben, Claire, Ellie, and Nasim belong to the Tiger Street Club where they learn and work together and write articles for the Tiger Team magazine. New cross-curricular videos present the topics and support better understanding. Communication is underpinned by a strong skills strand that features more meaningful spoken practice and extra listening in the grammar section. The Tiger Tasks include dedicated and integrated skills practice as well as carefully staged project lessons for pupils to work together with the supportive features of the Collaborate and Help boxes.
Six characters from different countries around the world meet up on a social network. Together they share experiences and learn about the wider world. The cross-curricular videos and strong skills strand continue to support understanding and consolidate language. As a bridge to ESO, study skills pages, life skills, critical thinking, and webquests provide pupils with opportunities to develop academic skills in preparation for ESO. New reinforcement materials combined with extension materials and a choice of Activity Books gives teachers greater flexibility to cater for mixed-ability classes.
• Print and digital Activity Books and Essential Activity Books to cater to pupils’ needs.
• Learner outcomes clearly marked at the bottom of each page so teachers can see learning objectives at-a-glance.
• A large variety of extra print and digital materials for teachers to choose from, giving greater flexibility.
