Key duties involved: Organising placements with various departments and completing training competencies in a particular time frame. Organising an elective project looking at the introduction of primary HPV screening in cervical cancer screening and how this will change cytology in the NHS. This was achieved by attending the annual HPV conference in the USA and relaying the information back to cytology departments in London. I also visited laboratories involved in primary HPV screening, interviewing and collecting information. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team including various cancer teams. This involved working and communicating with people of all levels including non-clinical professionals. Organising and giving presentations in matters of healthcare and research. Attending patient clinics including communicating with cancer patients. Managing and prioritising my training, portfolio, professional development and completing my Master’s project to tight deadlines. Other Details

I run a successful book club in my spare time, organising a different venue for each meet up. I enjoy keeping healthy and have attended a military boot camp fitness club for the last year as well as joining a mindful meditation club. I also like to keep up to date with the latest healthcare news and scientific developments.
