About IITRAM - IndiaInstitute of Infrastructure Technology Research and Management (IITRAM) has been

established by the Government of Gujarat as an Autonomous University and has been

mandated to bring about significant change in Engineering Education with respect to

Technical and Managerial knowledge in the area of Infrastructure. The objective of this

Institute is to serve as a Center of excellence in Research and Teaching in all areas

pertaining to Infrastructure, and the Institute has a vision of acquiring a status of

National importance in Infrastructure and related areas.

About ICA - France ICA is a research laboratory that focuses on the study of structures, systems and

mechanical processes. Our research activities are intimately linked to those in the

engineering industry. A special attention is paid to projects in the fields of aeronautics,

space, transportation and energy. Our work focuses generally on behavior modeling,

instrumentation and study of the durability of structures or products. An important part

of our research focuses on composite materials (numerical modeling, process of

manufacturing, machining...), which is now widely used in structures.

About CNRS - FranceCNRS, is a public organization under the responsibility of the French Ministry of

Education and Research. The CNRS encourages collaboration between specialists from

different disciplines, in particular with universities, thus opening up new fields of inquiry

to meet social and economic needs.

Aimed at Companies:R&D & Engineering Department Practitioners and Researchers

Objectives: From the Indian perspective, worldwide Titanium, Inconel and Composites

demand are increasing significantly in fields such as automation, medicine,

electronics, biotechnology... but it is in the aeronautic sector where advanced

materials consumption have grown more in recent years. However, the difficulty

to process advanced material through forming and, of course, machining, leads

to a continuous need for research of processing improvements to increase

productivity.

This workshop will cover a wide variety of topics within the machining of

advanced materials:

l To provides in depth analysis towards machining of these kinds of

materials;

l Influence of the machining process (conventional and non-conventional)

and the damages generated;

l Benefit of the new process of machining like Cryogenic assisted, EDM,

Abrasive water jet on the material integrity;

l Impact of the damages of machining on the structural integrity;

l Understand questions associated with the machinability of these

materials;

l Show with experimental demonstrations the viability of the studied

theory.

Finally, commercial sessions and poster presentations will take place during the

coffee breaks and lunch time where different companies will present their

products related to machining of these materials. The workshop aims to be a

forum where companies can be in the loop on innovations in the advanced

materials machining world and find collaborative partners.

Accommodation:Limited accommodations (on payment basis) are available on first come first

served basis at IITRAM. Other accommodations are available in private

hotels/lodges/guest houses at Ahmedabad. In case of private accommodation,

candidates have to make their own arrangements.
