Dates to Remember……. Principal’s Message

Welcome back for another year. It has certainly been a very unusual summer break for us all this year. I am thankful that you all remained safe throughout the ongoing bushfires, which were facing you from so many fronts. It has been, and will continue to be, a tense summer period.

It has been uplifting to see that your community has continued to work hard to protect the valley and beyond. It was also heartening that celebrations were able to take place, however delayed, to bring the community together and to give thanks to the St Albans RFS.

Your children have returned to school demonstrating their typical resilience, positivity and contagious joy. It is exciting to plan forward for the term ahead knowing that we can re-establish our routines and rhythms without interruption.

It has been a wonderful start to the year here in our beautiful grounds, which are alive with new growth and life. I am optimist and enthusiastic about what this year will bring at Macdonald Valley PS.

We welcome Mrs Sally Fisher to our teaching team this year. The children already adore her and she has brought great creativity and enthusiasm to our staff.

We are grateful that Mrs Dominique Epthorp has been able to increase her work days to three days a week this year. She will continue to offer her lovely warm and calm presence to our classroom.

We also have a wonderful team of support staff working with our students throughout the week who offer expertise and learning support in a variety of areas. The children will be happy to be learning French with Mrs Catherine Du Peloux Menage on Monday, music with Mrs Walker on Thursdays and Mrs Butler will continue to work with students on Fridays.

This Week at MacValley PS…………….

What a wonderful start to the term at Macdonald Valley Public School.

volunteer in the classroom and library - we are so very lucky to have her help.

Lastly, we welcome Max to our class. He has had a wonderful start to kindergarten - you will notice that fabulous smile of his in the photos of his first few days.

Please get in touch if you would like a meeting, or even just a chat, to discuss your children's current interests and recent experiences.

It is always a very positive thing to get greater insight into what might motivate and inspire our students.
