721 Congress | Graphic DesignRVi created the branding and print marketing materials for this exclusive eight unit condominum residence on Congress Avenue in downtown Austin, Texas. When completed, the building will be an adaptation of a former one-story retail structure and parking deck built in 1920s.

Developed as an upscale mixed-use project, Alta Vista’s branding was created to elicit a feeling compatible with this affluent area in the Stone Oak section of San Antonio. RVi named the project and created a comprehensive branding image used throughout the identity and wayfinding signs.

Shops at Arbor Trails is built on an environmentally sensitive site on the Edward’s Aquifer and the Scenic Roadway district of Austin, Texas. The graphics and branding for the project reflect the natural materials and dedicated greenspace provided for pedestrian trails and buffers to roadways.

RVi worked with DH Investment Company to create marketing collateral materials and a wayfinding sign system for one of the premier residential master planned communities in the Texas Hill Country. The superb vistas and landscape features were captured in a photographic narrative, telling a compelling visual story about the beauty of the community.

For its twenty-fifth anniversary, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center sought to redefine a graphic image that had grown confusing through decades of literature, marketing materials and signs. Creating a more recognizable identity, standardizing all print materials and developing a consistent interpretive sign system allowed the LBJ Wildflower Center to communicate its mission and manifest the excellence of its internationally known institution.

The first multi-family project to break ground in the Mueller redevelopment tract in Austin is the Mosaic, a 448-unit apartment complex that features live/work units, retail, and five common area courtyards for swimming, barbecuing, and socializing. RVi created the project logotype, designed the marketing brochure paper system and designed the sign system for both retail and residential tenants.

The Mueller Open Space system, designed by RVi, creates a necklace of green that surrounds the 700-acre Mueller Austin. When complete in 2010, the Open Space system will include trailhead signs, maps, interpretive graphics for demonstration gardens, and an interpretive belvedere mural explaining the influences of human development on prairie grasslands. One of the many unique stories is the creation of native plants demonstration gardens and two lakes for fishing and boating. Interpretive signs are strategically placed throughout the demonstration gardens explaining the characteristics of riparian, hillside, sensory, prairie and pollination plant species. The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center assisted RVi in the creation of these gardens and meadows.

The Hollows is phase one of a premier resort and residence community hugging three miles of shoreline along Lake Travis in the Texas Hill Country. RVi designed a comprehensive wayfinding and identity sign system for the dining and swim center, amphitheater, marina, boathouses and hiking trails. Northshore is representative of Centex Destination Properties nationally marketed resort and residential communities.

As part of the design team with Studio 8 and Benz Resource Group, RVi designed environmental graphics and wayfinding signs that convey SEDL’s misson “to solve significant problems facing educational systems” and embrace the architectural quality of the building.
Dominating the interior lobby of the building is a quotation from Lyndon Baines Johnson, and art galleries on two floors showcase a collection of photographic work by Burton Pritzker and the winners of SEDL’s 2007 national art competition from secondary school students.

St. Edward’s University, founded by the Holy Cross Brothers, is the fastest growing university in Texas.
RVi has created environmental graphics for gathering nodes, cafe spaces, and building interiors on the St. Edward’s campus. Most significantly, the interior wayfinding system for the one-hundred-year-old Main Building was concepted to enhance the building’s architectural character. Columns, arches and walls were also painted with color accents and faux marble bringing a gray interior to life with color and texture.

The Texas Union, a landmark building on the University of Texas mall, underwent a major architectural restoration to remove fifty years of partitions, drop ceilings and wall coverings and reveal the orginal building as it was designed. RVi was part of the restoration team, providing a new logotype, interior and exterior graphics and wayfinding sign systems throughout this historic building.

Conceived as an upscale urban mixed-use project, The Triangle has proven itself to be a magnet for shopping, dining and living. With seven restaurants and twenty retailers, The Triangle is an eclectic mix of laid-back Austin and an exciting urban experience. RVi designed environmental graphics for the site, worked with ten-ants to create expressive retail identities, and designed consumer advertising and brochures for residential leasing.
The Triangle’s eclectic palette of retail services, restaurants, and boutiques is governed by a sign criteria created to convey the variety of an established urban center.

Edinburg World Birding Center | Environmental GraphicsThe first pavilion created for the World Birding Center’s eight parks sits on the edge of two wetlands ponds. Exhibit design was created as an interactive children’s environment with interpretive species panels that would also appeal to adults. Exhibits use over thirty recorded bird calls from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
