Amazing Art Murals For the past few weeks, eighth grade art students have been working on creating murals that being proudly displayed on our classroom ceilings. Students were inspired to create a unified message throughout their work. The murals displayed the application of the principles and elements of art and helped students further develop their workmanship skills. Other objectives included developing cooperative and collaborative skills, showing consistency in colors and evaluating and assessing their work individually and as a team. Pictured below are some of the finished projects hanging in classrooms and office areas. Great job, Mrs. Walsh, art team and students!

Restoring Our Conservation Areas

In collaboration with the Marshfield Conservation Committee, Mr. Baldwin and Mr. Boudreau are organizing a volunteer opportunity to help conserve, preserve, and beautify one of the most picturesque spots in Green Harbor. A conservation area across from the Peter Igo Park is in need of some work. We’re looking for interested volunteers to join us on Saturday, May 20th from 9 am to approximately 2 pm, to help us restore, replant, and clean-up this gateway to Green Harbor. Interested members of the FBMS community can just show up on that day or can sign-up on the sheets posted outside of Room #5 to participate. This is the perfect chance to perform community service and to “Give A Little Back” to your town. As we have learned through our Peace Builders Program, even one person doing the right thing can have far reaching impact. We hope that you will consider joining us on May 20th. We look forward to seeing you there.

Homework Helpers will run every Wednesday immediately after school in the library for one hour. This program is available to all students without charge due to the generosity of the PTO. There is no need to pre-register, your student should just plan to arrive in the library with all of their work (they are not allowed to go back to classes or lockers). Once they sign in, students are expected to stay in the library for the full hour. This is a great opportunity for students to get a little extra support with any homework they find challenging.
