M-80's are very well known fireworks that were rumored to be used by the military forsimulating rifle fire. They were very dangerous when they were used before 1966 when

they were made illegal. A lot of company's sell M-90's and things with similar names to tryand trick people into buying them, they only contain 50 Mg of flash so they are no different

than any other firecrackers on the market.

To make one of these devices, you will need:

    - 1/2 inch ID cardboard tubes- flash powder (enough to fill the tube 3/4 full)

    - fuse (visco/black match)- Glue stick (1/2 inch OD)

    - glue gun- drill

    - duct tape/electrical tape

Once you get your materials, slice a piece off the end of one of the glue sticks which should fit perfectly into atube for an endcap, put some hot glue around this too.

Next, drill a 1/8 inch hole in the center of the tube and inset a piece of fuse, if its too loose, use some picture

sticky tac to hold it in place, hot glue sometimes effects the fuse.

Now that you have your fuse in and secured, put some flash powder onto a folded piece of paper and use itto pour the flash powder into the cardboard tube.

Now put in another glue stick end cap and hot glue it in place.

Now that your m-80 is complete, wrap tape horizontally around it to reinforce the end caps to build up themost possible pressure for the strongest explosion. This helps a lot, I use Mg/Kno3 flash which is not assensitive as 70/30 kclo4/AL flash, this is because i grind my own Mg so its in much bigger pieces, but workswell still. This is still not quite as powerufll as standard AL flash in the form I use it in, so reinforcing the endcaps makes a major difference. When done, your M-80 should look like this.
