    Effect: You will always set upfirst. As you do so, secretlywrite down three units. Afterdeployment is complete

    (including Infiltrators andScouts) deployment, you mayredeploy the units you wrotedown to anywhere in yourdeployment area, or toreserve.

    VIRUS BOMBMinor Stratagem

    Requirements: You must con-trol a spaceport.

    Effect: After deployment butbefore the first turn, nomi-nate a point anywhere on thetable. All enemy units within12 of this point suffer anumber of wounds equal to2D6 minus the unitsToughness value, with noarmour or cover savesallowed. Vehicle units are notaffected.

    VORTEX GRENADEMinor Stratagem

    Requirements: You must control a man-ufactorum, power station, shield gener-ator and a command bastion.

    Effect: Secretly record which of yourindependent characters has the vortexgrenade. They may throw the grenadeinstead of shooting. The grenadecounts as an Ordnance weapon with arange of 6 and a 3 blast marker. Anymodels and removable terrain featuresunder the final position of the tem-plate are destroyed, with no saves ofany kind allowed. At the start of eachplayer turn the vortex tears throughthe fabric of reality and reappears2D6 away in a random direction. If

    you roll a double for the distance thevortex disappears.

    Nothing survives its touch, nothing escapesits grasp. It is a weapon of unspeakablepower and unmatched devastation a hor-ror from a bygone age.

    Effect: At the start of the battlenominate a point anywhere inyour deployment zone. All friend-ly models within 12 of this pointincrease their invulnerable savesby +1. If they dont have such asave, then they receive an invul-nerable save of 6+.
