October was marked with our Children’s Day celebration. Our Start Small Dream Big Project(SSDB) and Innovation Guided Project (IGP) on Kindness on Board has ended. I would liketo take the opportunity to thank parents and caregivers for their support and participationin the activities for the project.

The kids wearing their orange hats proudly, after participating in the President’sChallenge SSDB project for preschools. A selective number of preschools participated inthis project and Spring Brainy Kidz @ Potong Pasir was one of them.

2、十月我们的华文阅读是《老鼠比尾巴》，你一定想知道故事内容吧，我们一起去读读吧：两只老鼠在比尾巴。大老鼠说：“你看我的尾巴又长又美。”小老鼠说：“我将来长大了，尾巴一定比你长。”忽然听到“喵”的一声，花猫来了。老鼠们吓了一跳，立刻躲进洞里，小老鼠尾巴短，躲得快。大老鼠尾巴长，半条尾巴露在外面，花猫一把抓住大老鼠的尾巴，用力把它拖出洞外。大老鼠说：“都是这条尾巴害了我。”小老鼠说：“还好我的尾巴短，才没被花猫吃掉。”

1、十月真是个让人兴奋的日子，儿童节那天我们收到了很多礼物，从学校回家的时候每个小朋友手里都提的满满的。每一份礼物都装满了老师多我们浓浓的爱。

2.Our Chinese reading was “ mouse and

its tail”. The story was about , two mice

with a long and short tail. The cat with

the long tail was boasting about the

length of his tail but when a cat attacked

them, the cat with the long tail caught

and his tail was bitten. The proud mouse

realized that it was not good to have a

long tail after all!

1.October was an exciting month due to

Children’s Day. The kids received lots

of gifts.

Last October 5, the childrenhad a very special Children'sday celebration. Their daystarted with a storytelling byTr. Shanti which wasportrayed and dramatised bythe teachers. The story wasa version of Cinderella and allthe children loved it! Theywere all entertained and theyalso cheered and applaudedfor their teachers. Then itwas followed by...

Once there were 8 princesses who would like to go to the ball.

But there was one princess who was asked to stay at home and take care of their father...

After the ball, the prince looked for the owner of the glass shoe!

Your foot cannot fit in

my dear princess!

This cannot be! That is mine!

Princess Zu is the real owner of the shoe. She

got married to the prince and they lived happily ever after!

After merry making, singing and dancing, the children had a sumptuous Western lunch.They went back to their respective classes to receive tokens and gifts prepared bytheir teachers. The classes also took turns in going to the photo booth with thetheme – “When I Grow Up!”. In the afternoon, the children had a buffet of theirfavourite snacks and treats which were all prepared by the teachers. They’ve alsoenjoyed the popcorn booth and candy floss station rented by the teachers. The daywas capped off with a movie which they all enjoyed watching while eating theirpopcorn! It was really a day worth remembering for the kids!

A Deepavali corner was set up to enlighten children more about Deepavali.

Things like traditional costumes, accessories, greeting cards, diya lamps and Indian sweets were displayed.

Monster Cookies

INGREDIENTS1 cup flour ½ teaspoon baking powder ½ teaspoon salt 1 cup rolled oats 9 tablespoons butter, at room temperature ½ cup light brown sugar ½ cup superfine sugar 1 large egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract ¾ cup chopped pecans 1 cup M&M's or other sugar-coated candies like Reese's pieces

PREPARATIONHeat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and rolled oats. Set aside. In the bowl of an electric mixer combine butter, light brown sugar and superfine sugar. Beat until creamy. Add egg and vanilla, and beat again until smooth.Add flour mixture to butter mixture, and beat until smooth. By hand, fold in chopped pecans and M&M's.Roll quarter-cup measures of dough into balls and flatten them into fat disks (about 1/2 inch thick). Place on a parchment-lined or greased baking sheet, about 6 at a time, so they have room to spread.Bake until cookies are risen, dry on surface and very lightly browned, 15 to 20 minutes. They will be too soft to lift from baking sheet. Set aside to harden for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool.
