The Resource Center was created to provide a peaceful environment for cancer patients to learn, relax and heal emotionally.

Art TherapyIndividual sessions for survivors or caregivers and children are provided to cope with issues relative to cancer by using the power of art. No art ability is needed. Call 502-562-4158 to schedule an appointment.

Look Good Feel Better®:Look Good Feel Better is a program that teaches beauty techniques to help manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. The program includes lessons on skin and nail care, cosmetics, wigs and turbans, accessories and styling. It helps people with cancer to find some normalcy in a life that is by no means normal. The program is 10 a.m. - noon.Call 502-562-4158 to register.

Plan to be Tobacco FreeA free, educational one-time session that will help those interested in overcoming tobacco use and dependence. Resources and guidance will be available, including a customized quit plan. This also serves as an introduction to the UofL Physicians -Tobacco Treatment Clinic. Pre-registration is required. Caring for the CaregiverA holistic patient care initiative offering support to caregivers. It is a six-week course of group discussions tailored to the caregiver’s perspective. Topics include: nutrition, emotions and stress, compassion fatigue, difficult conversations, the disease process, relaxation techniques, and resources for help and support. UofL Brown Cancer Center has been named the “Charity of Choice” of Louisville Magazine’s Best of Louisville event, scheduled for 6:30-10 p.m., Thursday, July 12, at the C2 Event Venue, 225 E. Breckinridge St.
