ABSTRAQI
This report will cover a geological mapping program which
was completed over two properties in Whitney Township during
July and August 198B. It will expand upon geological,
topographical and cultural features noted during mapping.
— O —
CQWCLUSIQNS
Due to the lack of outcrop on claim group "B" and very
limited amount o-f outcrop on claim group "A", the geological
survey proved inconclusive in delineating any targets of economic
interest,
-3-
Results of magnetic, V.L.F. and I.P. surveys, already
performed on the property, will have to be reviewed to identify
if any targets exist on the property and warrant further testing.
-4-
On June lith and 12th, 1988, 8 mining claims were staked -for
BMP-Utah Mines Ltd. in north-east Whitney Township, Porcupine
Mining Division, Ontario. On June 23rd, 1988, two additional
adjoining claims were staked by the Author to complete the group
"A" block of claims. Four claims were staked by BMP-Utah Mines
Ltd. personnel on June 23rd and 24th, 1988 in east central
Whitney Township to form claim block "B".
Both claim groups had cut line grids established which were
utilized to complete geological mapping, magnetic and V.L.F.
survey during July and August, 1988 and an I.P. survey during
January, 1989.
-5-
SURVEY-MEIHOD
A cut line grid with a baseline and tie line azimuth of 09O0
was established over both properties excluding one claim in group
"A", which is covered by Three Nations Lake. Lines were
established at one hundred meter intervals with stations every
twenty-five meters. Outcrops were located and plotted using the
pace and compass method utilizing the cut grid lines for control.
In addition to outcrop, vegetation, topographical and cultural
features were noted.

The Three Nations properties are located in Whitney
Township, which lies within Timmins City Limits. Porcupine Mining
Division, in Northeastern Ontario (See Fig. 1). Claim group "A"
consists of -Four unpatented contiguous mining claims and group
"B" consists of ten unpatented contiguous mining claims (See Fig.
1). The claim numbers are as -Follows:
GROUP "A" GROUP "B"
1030562 1O742251030563 1O742261030564 10742271030565 107422B103056610305671030568 1073567 107356B
Access to both properties is generally good. Claim Group
"A" can be easily accessed by means of a hydro line which leads
•From Highway 101 to the property where it crosses the south-east
corner (See Fig. 2).
Claim group "B" can be accessed by a gravel road leading to an
ATC trail/drill road which continues to within approximately 1OO
meters of the property. The gravel road leads to Highway 1O1.
(See Figure 2).

-9-
Claim group "A" is -flat lying with relief not exceeding
approximately ten -feet. The property is moderately swampy as
standing water pools are common. One claim on the north— west
portion of the property is completely covered by Three Nations
Lake. Vegetation over the group consists of a mixture of spruce,
poplar and alder.
Claim group "B" is also generally flat lying with relief
limited to a couple of ten's of feet. Goose Creek winds through
three of the four claims of the group, and attains widths of up
to 40 meters. Vegetation is mostly spruce and poplar with an
alder swamp in the middle of the group. Low lying alder bush is
also present along the creek banks.
-1O-
PRIVIQUS.WQRK
Both groups of claims have not had extensive exploration
acti vi ty.
Claim group "A" has had three diamond drill holes drilled on
the property in 1948 by Bob's Lake Gold Mines Ltd. These holes
were drilled on what is now claim number 1036562. Drill logs,
hole locations and drill core is available through the Bovernment
Assessment Office and Drill Core Library. The most recently
reported work occurred in the mid 19BO*s when D. Bremner staked
the property and performed a magnetic/V.L.F. survey over the
property.
Claim group "B" has had little or no reported exploration
activity over the years. A three hole diamond drill program was
completed by Summit Gold Mines Inc. on a property located just
south of what is now BMP-Utah's property. No known work has been
completed on BHP-Utah's claim group "B".

RiBIQNAL.GEQLOGY
Whitney Township i s l ocated within the Archean aged Abitibi
Greenstone Belt of Northeastern Ontario and Northwestern Quebec.
One major fault structure, the Destor-Porcupine, traverses the
Township in an east - northeasterly direction along with numerous
other -faults at various orientations. This major fault structure
has numerous gold mines associated with it including the Dome,
Hollinger and Pamour (11,454,071 02 Au; 19,327,691 oz Au and
3,235,833 oz Au produced respectively). (L.E. Luhta et al)
Volcanic rocks in the area consists of two groups, the older
Deloro and the younger, overlying Tisdale. The Deloro Group
consists mainly of basaltic to dacitic/rhyolitic pyroclastic
flows, with sulphide and oxide iron formation commonly occurring
near the top of the sequence. The Tisdale volcanics consist of
mainly komatiite c to tholeiitic basalts with calc-alkaline
volcanoclastics occurring at the top of the sequence.
Metasediments are present as the Porcupine Group which was
emplaned during the same period as the upper Deloro - low Tisdale
volcanic rocks. The metasediments are generally represented by
greywacke, siltstone and conglomerate. (D.R. Pyke)
Quartz-feldspar phorphry, granodiorite and late olivine diabase
are present as intrusives in the area.
-13-
Outcrop exposure on this block constitutes less than 1 7. o -f
the total surface area. The bedrock outcrops which Mere located
on the property were all intermediate volcanic -flows. These
•flows are typically medium green in colour, fine grained and
massive with rare weak schistosity. Alteration was limited to
very weak pervasive carbonitization and no sulphide
mineralization was noted. One sample located in an old trench on
line 45+OOE did contain trace disseminated pyrite and slightly
higher degree of carbonitization (CaCo ). This grab sample was
sent for Au analysis and returned a value of only 3 ppb Au. It
is not certain however, whether this rock was a boulder or
outcrop.
No outcrop exposure was located on this group of claims
during the mapping survey. It is believed the property is
underlain by felsic metavolcanics as indicated on Ontario
Geological Survey Map No. 2455.
-14-
SIBUCIUBE
As previously mentioned, outcrop on the two groups of claims
is rare or absent, therefore no structures of significance were
noted during mapping on the properties. Two fault structures are
projected, from Government Publications, to be present on claim
group "A". The first is the Boose Creek Fault which is projected
to trend at approximately O05* which would intersect the claim
which lies under Three Nations Lake. The second fault trends at
approximately 14O 0 which would put it crossing the western
portion of claim group "A". Claim group "B" has no inferred
fault structures, however, the Goose Creek Fault is projected to
be present on the west boundary of the property and another
north-south trending fault is projected to be present on the east
boundary of the property.
