The Queen’s Master of Management in Finance program will provide a deeper
and broader understanding of Finance, and it will equip you with the knowledge
and tools to move immediately from theory to real-world applications.

and Saturdays in our downtown Toronto classroom. Because you complete
the program while continuing in your current job, the opportunity cost of

The Financial Times has called a Masters degree in Finance the “must-have
degree” for people pursuing a career in investment banking or asset
management. The increasing globalization of the financial sector has created

As a graduate of the program, you will have acquired the knowledge and
skills needed to make an immediate impact. You will have a solid
understanding of the current financial climate and market trends, and the
ability to communicate ideas and information accurately and concisely. The
program curriculum is delivered by a combination of Queen’s School of
Business faculty and industry specialists, providing you with practical and
current real-world application of financial concepts and tools.
CFA Exam Preparation
The Queen’s Master of Management in Finance curriculum includes extensive
preparation for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 exam, which
may be written at the end of the first semester, and the Level 2 exam,
which may be written at the end of the program. The Economist has
called the CFA the “gold standard among investment analysis designations.”

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
PROGRAM STRUCTURE*
Queen’s School of Business has partnered with the CFA Institute to createan intensive and highly focused program that will help you fast-trackyour career in investment banking, asset management or financial analysis.
The program begins in July and is divided into two semesters. Bothsemesters begin with a residential session at the Queen’s campus inKingston, Ontario. The balance of your classes takes place on Tuesdayevenings and Saturdays in our Toronto classroom. You may choose to writethe CFA Level 1 exam at the end of the first semester and the Level 2exam at the end of the second semester, although these are notmandatory. You will have three to four weeks at the end of November andMay to prepare for these exams. Additionally, you will have four weeks offin December and early January.

To be considered for admission to Queen’s Master of Management in Finance,
applicants must meet the following requirements:
• An undergraduate degree from a recognized university and a minimum of 2 years
relevant work experience
• Successful completion of the GMAT or QMAT. (This requirement may be waived if
the applicant has passed the CFA Level 1 exam)
• Two letters of reference, preferably one academic (forms available on-line)
• Official transcripts from each post-secondary institution you have attended, sent by
the Registrar of the institution directly to the Queen’s Master of Management in
Finance admissions committee
• Résumé
• Completed application form (available on-line)
We will also consider strong applicants without work experience if they meet twoof the following criteria:
• A strong GMAT or QMAT score
• Successful completion of CFA Level 1 exam
• An undergraduate degree in business or economics
NOTE: Applicants whose first language is not English and whose undergraduate university studies
were taken in a language other than English must achieve a satisfactory score on one of the accepted
