“Let the same mind be in you that was in

Christ Jesus.” (Phil 2:5)

Dearly Beloved in Christ, Greetings. The first half of 2019 is over. Schools closed for Summer vacation. Sunday school classes over. Children are in a holiday mood. We are eagerly waiting for Vacation Bible School, which is to be held from July 25th to 28th. Please make sure to register and send your children for VBS. I would like to congratulate and appreciate all our children graduated. Summer is the time of various conferences orga-nized by the diocese. It is good to attend conferences. It’s a time for study and reflec-tion, to listen from eminent speakers on various themes, to rededicate ourselves, and to get to know each other from all over the diocese. Our parish is privileged to host the 5th Senior Fellowship National conference from September 25th to 28th, 2019. I request your prayers and wholehearted support. The theme is “Fear not, stand still” Exodus 14:13. Register as early as possible by paying 100 dollars and attend the conference. We need compliments in souvenir, your houses to accommodate the members and clergy coming from far places and also financial support. As Ascension family let us come together and make this conference a great success. Our new Youth Chaplain Rev. Thomas K, Mathew, and family arrived on May 9th and started his ministry. Achen is assigned only for the Parishes in Philadelphia center and is staying in Youth Chaplain’s parsonage in Philadelphia; he will be available all the time here. Second Saturday and Sundays are exclusively for the ministry of our Parish. I request youth fellowship, Sunday School, and young family to make use of his time. I wholeheartedly welcome Thomas K. Mathew Achen and family to Ascension Family. We have many programs and activities in the coming months. VBS, Harvest festival, Parish convention, Family Sunday, and the special days of various organizations. Let us pray and actively participate in all the programs of our parish. The month of June and July, the new batch of students completed theological training are getting ordained and entering into the ministry of the church. Let us remember them in our prayers. The ministry of Church is a ministry of servanthood. Servants are the most ordinary people with extraordinary humility, vision, and love. Jesus is the ideal servant model. Mark.10:45, “For the son of Man came not to be served but to serve.” Let us pray to God to help us to be selfless, self-denying, and loving servants in His vineyard. Prayerful regards Jinsonachen

From Youth Chaplain’s Desk

Dearly Beloved in Christ We are grateful for the warm welcome we received from the Ascension Mar Thoma Church from the time we have arrived here, and we hope that we will be able to build our friendship in the coming years during our ministry here. We also had an opportunity to participate in the Youth Fellowship meeting at the residence of Nancy Abraham. I was glad to meet many of the youths of the parish and also interact with them. I thank Jinson Achen for arranging this occasion. I hope that more youths will join our meetings, which are now being held on the 1st and 3rd Fridays every month. The South East regional Sunday School is organizing the Junior-Senior Conference for our Sunday school children from the 27th to the 30th of June at Ramapo College, New Jersey. I hope and pray that we will have good participation for this event from our parish and the parents will encourage the children to be there and use this opportunity to “ Thrive in the Lord”. The 40th Diocesan Youth Fellowship Conference is being hosted by the Dallas Farmers Branch MTC from the 25th to the 28th of July 2019 with the theme “ Bloom where you are planted”. I hope youths from our parish will join and make the best use of this opportunity to learn from the word of God and also to create new bonds of fellowship with youths across the Diocese. The Diocesan Youth Fellowship is planning to start a Diocesan Basketball Tournament for the coming together of teams from all across the Diocese on the 17th and 18th of August 2019 and I hope that we will have a team ready for this event from our parish As the word of God reminds us, “ the LORD has chosen you to be his treasured posses-sion” (Deuteronomy 14:2). Let us remind ourselves that the life we have is a precious and the Lords wants to lay the claim of possession over us. The opportunities set before us is to realize this and trying better to live by this truth. I hope and pray that every child and youth in this parish grows up in this realization and will become a precious witness for the Lord wherever they are placed. As we begin our ministry here, we request your prayer and support, which will be the strength for us. I request the youths to get in touch with us and also request the parents to help us getting introduced to your children so that we will be able to relate to them and min-ister to them. Monthly subscription Renewal

Monthly subscription renewal form available in the church office. Fill it and give back as early as possible All families of the parish shall pay monthly subscription and $150 offertory without pending. We need an average of $40,000 a month for running our parish. Dues of all families will be carry forwarded and will be shown in the Annual Report. Subsidy from Church for active members in using the rental facilities will be given to those members who fully comply (paid the complete dues till the date) with the financial responsibilities towards the church.
