Adam Cline (Business Development Director) has been involved in the Bakersfield theatre scene since 1992. For the past 25 years he has assumed every role from leading characters to producing, writing, teaching, and direct-ing many shows for Stars Theatre Restaurant, Bakersfield Music Theatre, and The Melodrama. From 1994-1997 Adam taught acting classes to hundreds of adults and children at The McCright Agency and Stars School of Fine Arts. In 1995 Adam started a production company called A.C.T.S. Productions (Adam Cline’s Theatrical Services), where he met the needs of local the-atres and schools to provide sets, lighting, sound and crew to help run productions. In 1996 Adam joined the family business, Kern Glass, and began to increase the sales and growth of the company. In 2006 he became the Vice Pres-ident of Operations and by 2010 was the Pres-ident of the company. He continues to develop great relationships with other local businesses while enthralling the community with his witty advertising commercials to promote the family business.

Jason McClain (Director of Facilities) was born and raised in Bakersfield by a wonderful Italian family who instilled in him a love and appre-ciation for art and music. Jason also regularly delights audiences with his one-man cabaret act as Dean Martin titled A Rat Without a Pack, which was developed while serving as an entertainer on cruises throughout Europe with Silversea Cruise Lines. Jason is an accomplished and highly sought-after set de-signer, artist, and interior designer who has been meeting the needs of local theatres, schools, businesses and homes since the inception of his business, Gogogo Design, in 2010. He is a licensed Insurance Agent and in 2007 became the CFO for Assist Business and Insurance Services. Jason is now the Technical Theatre and Scenic Design Teacher at Rideview High School where he gets to impart his love of theatre and design to the eager young minds of Bakersfield. Bien Resolme (Managing Director) was born and raised right here in Bakersfield, leaving for four years to serve his country in the US Navy. He has been involved in the Bakersfield theatre community for over 25 years, first as a performer and more recently on the technical side of local pro-ductions by volunteering his time to build sets and manage tech crews at local high schools and community theatres. Bien has a bachelor’s degree in Business Adminis-tration and is the Technical Director and Technical Theatre teacher at East High School for the Kern High School District. In his first year of teaching, Bien’s Virtual Enterprise business plan team earned the right to compete at the national level in New York City. When Charles Dickens authored A Christmas Carol, he wrote in the preface that he desired his ghost story would haunt his read-ers’ houses pleasantly. I wish our audience will take that spirit with them and keep it, not only for the season, but all year. A Christmas Carol, The Musical, opened at Paramount Theatre in Madison Square Garden on December 1, 1994 and ran until 2003. I am happy to say that this stage adaptation of Dickens’ classic story is faithful to the message and spirit of the 1843 no-vella. I am indebted to many people on this project, and would like to thank them here for the spirit of Christmas shines forth in their talent, helpfulness, and teamwork. Thanks especially to Ken Burdick for musical direction, Kelci Cerri for choreography, Erica Lynn for her assistance, and the owners and staff for welcoming me to their wonderful theatre. I thank my wife, Kathi, for her con-tinued support of my artistic pursuits, although I nearly drive her mad with each new one. On behalf of a very talented cast and crew, I welcome you to The Ovation and hope you will enjoy our treatment of the classic Christmas ghost story. Happy Christmas!

-- Joseph W. Lowry, Director
