Lyrical Breakdown: “You'll never change And you'll never change me. I've waited so long to take you down. Now we're face to face.” These lyrics show that the persona within the song is talking about someone who has wronged them in some way. This results in the persona wanting to take revenge and take them down. This could be about anyone, for example it could be about a past relationship that went wrong or someone who was a constant liar. “I never wanted anything more than all of you, But I know you all too well, You only wanted to control me. How did I think you were Heaven

Lyrical Breakdown:

“You'll never changeAnd you'll never change me.I've waited so long to take you down. Now we're face to face.” These lyrics show that the persona within the song is talking about someone who has wronged them in some way. This results in the persona wanting to take revenge and take them down. This could be about anyone, for example it could be about a past relationship that went wrong or someone who was a constant liar.

“I never wanted anything more than all of you,But I know you all too well,You only wanted to control me.How did I think you were HeavenWhen you put me through Hell?” This verse of the song shows that the persona was longing for someone and maybe had them, but the relationship started to break-apart as soon as the persona’s partner started to try and take

control of them, which shattered the persona’s perception of them as he believed they were from Heaven but they tortured him and put him through Hell, as shown within the lyrics.

“You are everything I hateHow can you tellwhat's right for someoneIf you don't know yourself!I won't let you bury me (Bury me)Cause I won't ever let myself become that way!” These lyrics show how, due to the poor relationship, the persona now hates everything about his ex-partner and is questioning how they can possibly know what is good and right for another person when they don’t understand themselves. Due to them trying to put them down or trying to control them the persona stands up and says they won’t be held down by them as they shall remain strong through the tough times and won’t become weak and let them win.

“The oceans between youAnd where your heart should beIs sickening (sickening)” These lyrics show how the persona is almost calling his ex-partner or whoever wronged him heartless as he is saying how oceans have replaced their heart which is no longer there. This could be seen as the writer of the lyrics trying to portray a thing used to represent love has been replaced by something that has the ability to trap you and make you lost, or even potentially kill you.

“Just wait for the day that you wake up all aloneAnd know you'll always be” These lyrics are self-explanatory as the persona is

waiting for the day that their ex-partner wakes up, realize what they lost and notice that they’re alone in the world since the relationship broke.

“I never wanted anything more than all of you,But I know you all too well,You only wanted to control me.How did I think you were Heaven? When you put me through Hell(How did I think you were heavenWhen you put me through hell?)” These lyrics are the same as before, effectively saying how the partner only wanted to control the persona and the perception of them broke apart as soon as they let out their true side.

“You are a liar and fakeNothing you do will make me changeYou are a liar and a fakeNothing about you will ever changeOnce a liar (always a fake)Once a liar (always a fucking fake)” These lyrics show how the persona perceives their ex-partner as a liar and a fake as they most likely told them things and then contradicted them. The persona then goes on to explain how the ex will never change them and the persona will not be able to change themselves no matter what they do.

“Just wait for the day that you wake up all aloneAnd know you'll always be” These lyrics are the same as before.

How did I think you were Heaven? When you put me through Hell(How did I think you were heavenWhen you put me through hell?)” These lyrics portray a meaning as before.

“Once a liar (always a fake)Once a liar (always a fake)Once a liar (always a fake)Once a liar always a fucking fake” These lyrics are repetitive and also references the songs title, the use of the profanity may be to represent the anger the persona feels towards their ex-partner. The repetitive use of the words of ‘liar’ and ‘fake’ may be due to the angry nature of the song.
