50th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Responsorial Psalm: How Lovely is Your Dwelling Place Haugen

Entrance: Table of Plenty Dan Schutte

Refrain: Come to the feast of heaven and earth! Come to the table of plenty! God will provide for all that we need, here at the table of plenty.

1. O come and sit at my table where saints and sinners are friends. I wait to welcome the lost and lonely to share the cup of my love.

2. O come and eat without money; come to drink without price. My feast of gladness will feed your spirit with faith and fullness of life.

Preparation: The Cry of the Poor (#47) John Foley

Refrain: The Lord hears the cry of the poor.

1) I will bless the Lord at all times; with praise ever in my mouth. Let my soul glory in the Lord; who will hear the cry of the poor.

2) Let the lowly hear and be glad: the Lord listens to their pleas; and to hearts broken God is near, who will hear the cry of the poor.

3) Ev’ry spirit crushed God will save; will be ransom for their lives; will be safe shelter for their fears, and will hear the cry of the poor.

4) We proclaim your greatness, O God, your praise ever in our mouth; ev’ry face brightened in your light, for you hear the cry of the poor.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

We will soon begin to schedule liturgical roles for the months of September, October, November and December. Please go online and block dates that you are not available by 14 August. We will be looking for Volunteers in all the ministries.

NEWLY BAPTIZED

We joyfully welcome, Jackson Austin Tulip, son of Austin & Kaycee Tulip who was baptized in our parish on 3 October 2021.

We joyfully welcome, Hattie Rose DeSutter, daughter of Chris & Amanda DeSutter who was baptized in our parish on 1 August 2021.

We joyfully welcome, Westley Lawrence Evano, son of Michael & Megan Evano who was baptized in our parish on 1 August 2021.

Parents* who wish to have their child baptized (and who have not participated in a baptism class at St. Joseph’s within the last two years) are required to complete a baptism class. It is not necessary for the baby to be born prior to taking the class. In fact, many parents find it easier to take the class while expecting. The next class will be held on Tuesday, 14 September 2021 at 7:00 pm in the church gathering space. To register for the class, please call the parish office at 715-262-5310 and leave a message. *(Parents must be registered in the parish prior to baptism.)

SYMPATHY

Are you, or someone you know, interested in becoming Catholic - or knowing more about the faith? The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is an extended period of catechesis (instruction in the faith) and spiritual formation in the Roman Catholic Church. Although RCIA is primarily a process by which people become full members of the Catholic Church, all people who are serious about exploring Catholicism are welcome at any level of knowledge, faith or intent. In short, RCIA is an adventure of the heart, mind and soul for those seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and the Church. The RCIA program begins on Sunday, October 3rd this year and concludes in early May. Participants attend two sessions per month on Sundays from 8:30AM to 9:45AM where elements of the Catholic faith are explained, questions are addressed and practical ways to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ are explored. Participants are also encouraged to attend the Sunday Mass together at 10:00AM. The process culminates with the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist at the Easter Vigil. The process concludes the weeks following Easter as the newly initiated reflect on the graces they have received in the Sacraments and are equipped to live as disciples of Jesus Christ for the rest of their lives. Those interested in learning more about RCIA should contact Deacon Jerry Rynda at [email protected] or by phone: (wk) 651-789-2887, (hm) 715-262-3065.

1) Blessed are they who are poor in spirit, Theirs is the kingdom of God. Bless us, O Lord, make us poor in spirit; Bless us, O Lord, our God.

Refrain: We are the light of the world, May our light shine before all, That they may see the good that we do, And give glory to God.
