Option 2 (Multi-use path on both sides) has been selected for detailed design.

Results of The First Open House

44

The public open house held in December 2012 presented 6 design options for the Boulevard Crescent section, and 2 design options for both the Interchange and Lynn Valley Road sections.

The results and comments showed that:

Option 6 (Removal of parking with right turn lane and bike lane) was the preferred option (34%), however many of the comments against this option criticised the removal of on-street parking. The proposed north bound right turn lane was strongly supported as were the proposed bike lanes.

The results and comments showed that:

Option 2 (Multi-use path on both sides) was the preferred option (53%).

The comments received refl ected the need for improved pedestrian and bicycle facilities though the intersection.

The results and comments showed that:

Option 2 was the preferred option (58%).

However, further fi nancial analysis determined that changing access to Morgan Road would be better suited as a separate local initiative. Option 1 (Road widening to the east side and narrowing of the median to provide bike lanes) has been selected for detailed design because it provides the same active transportation benefi ts as option 2, with bike lanes on Lynn Valley Road.

Comments have lead us to investigate further options for your consideration
