Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to Term 4 and what promises to be something rather different once again! We cannot wait to be back up and running on Monday 8th March and we are so looking forward to having

our whole school family back together again under one roof. Detailed plans for re-opening will be sent to families early next week with reminders about the systems of control, arrival and drop off,

safety measures and any further considerations in accordance with the updated guidance.

Year group topic webs can be found on the class page of the school website and we look forward to a final week of Zooming, including a special World Book Day in pyjamas on Thursday. As staff will be

WORLD BOOK DAY

We will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 4th March, in usual Lydiard fashion. Children on Zoom and children coming on-site can wear pyjamas so that they are ready to listen to their teacher’s bed-time story!

We are also planning some World Book Day themed learning for the whole day, which we’re really excited about – will you be able to guess the identity of the Masked Readers?!

RED NOSE DAY

19th March

Children are allowed, if they so wish, to wear something red on this day in return for an online

donation.

To donate, please go to:CLICK HERE

Please note the school will not be selling red noses this year.

PARKING & COMMUNITY

We have received a number of complaints about parking in the village in the last few months. Please can you ensure no gates are

blocked, including the ones to the cemetery at the back of the village hall. All parents and carers must park safely around our school locality and ensure access to the lane and driveways is

never compromised. Under no circumstances should parents park on double yellow lines or disobey the parking restrictions in the

village.

Please ensure that children are supervised at all times walking down the lane and that drivers are extra cautious where children

are walking and/or getting in/out of their cars.

BOOK BUFFET

The book buffet will not take place next week (wb 01.03.21).

Please return any books you have back to school on the 8th March.

LYDIARD’S GOT TALENT!

If you would like your child to be mentioned for an out of school achievement, please email [email protected] with ‘Out of School Achievement’ as the subject. In the email, please include what you would like mentioned. Unless you state otherwise, we will use a child’s first name and their year group.

NUT FREE SCHOOL

Our school aims to be a nut free school as we have children with severe food allergies. We therefore ask you to ensure

that products containing nuts are not brought into school for any purpose.

Many thanks for your support with this.

REPORTING CONFIRMED CASES OF COVID

Should we need to inform you that your child has been identified as a close contact, we will do this via our usual communication system – ParentMail. You will receive a text message to alert you and ask you to read a letter sent out by the school in consultation with Public Health.

You must contact school if:

Your child develops symptoms within 48 hours of last being in school. This will alert us to the fact that there is a suspected case of coronavirus (COVID-19) and enable us to be ready in the event of a confirmed case.

Your child tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) if symptoms developed within 48 hours of your child of last being in school. The school will assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in school.

Your child is not symptomatic but tested positive within 48 hours of last being in school. You should make contact by emailing [email protected].
