The media club of Lyceum International School Nugegoda, will be hosting its annual radio and internet broadcast for the 6th consecutive year. The broad- cast will be beamed on 96.1 FM from the 16th to the 19th of December 2011. The broad- cast can also be listened to on wavefm.comeze.com. This year, the media unit will set new standards for radio broadcast in Sri Lanka by featuring a live video feed from its state of the art studio in the school premises; on its upcoming website. The audio stream will also be featured on Facebook via the media club’s Facebook page- LIS Media Club. The event is endorsed by the TRCSL and is sponsored by Janashakthi Insurance. Be a part of this event and listen in! Asel Vinjitha Algama of Grade 8, Isipathana College, Colombo, took top honours has become first in the 2011 All Island Music and Drama contest organized by the Ministry of Education. He won the first place in the Western Province Male Section, playing the Flute. This student, who entered the, Music world as a Flute player of the Isipathana College primary musical troupe, is a flute player in the “Isisara” Music Group since 2010. This student has been able to win this acco- lade due to the guidance and training given by the Music Teacher, Mrs. Tharangani Pathiraja, and the well known Flute Player and Music Teacher, Mr. Nuwan Balasuriya.
