Here are some highlights: Fourth of JulyKellogg has planned a full day of music, vendor booths, fireworks, breakfast, parade and more to celebrate July 4. Auction in the StreetCome downtown in Wallace on Saturday, July 6, at 11 a.m. for this new event. Bring something to be auctioned, or see what others have to sell. Sixth Street TheaterThe theater is celebrating its 30th year, and im- plementing an online ticket system. The melodrama “Lookout, Mullan, or Lookout Mullan!” opens July 3 with shows Wednesday-Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. All seats $10. The August show, “Mining Madness at the Mill, or A Big Bang for Bunker Hill” runs July 31-August 25. Blues FestivalThe 2nd annual Blues Fest July 12-13 is expected to bring up to 4,000 people to Wal- lace. Music free on Friday; admis- sion charged for Saturday. There will be four music venues and 20+ bands. New this year will be the Kiwanis Club breakfast for $10 per person, which includes one cocktail. Trolleys will run between Wallace and Kellogg and Sather Field. ATV JamboreeThis annual event, July 21-27, is adding a Women’s Night downtown on Tues- day, July 23. The parade theme is “Redneck,” guaranteed to bring out some interesting décorations. SMC FoundationShoshone Medical Center Foundation will hold its Summer Wine fundraising event July 25 at the base of Silver Moun- tain. Accordion FestThe 3rd annual Accordion Festival August 9-11 is adding a dance to its second night of concert, and introducing a youth competition. The Gazebo will be home to a full lineup of afternoon entertainment, and the Elks Lodge will house dance lessons, work- shops and concerts. A special the- atrical event is planned at the Sixth Street Theater. Oasis BordelloThe museum will be featured on an XM Radio show in the near future. Summer hours have been extended to 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Mining MuseumThe museum has new signage and has added to its wealth of digitized records for those interested in research. Depot MuseumThe museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and has new and changing exhibits. Sum- mer events will include street per- formers on the grounds, and ap- pearances by May Hutton. Sierra Silver MineWallace’s oldest at- traction celebrates its 31st season with new displays at the mine. The wood has been restored on the trol- leys. Silver StreakThe zipline opened its sec- ond course - the east course - which fea- tures four zips. The zipline continues to get lots of good press, plus groups from near and far. The zipline is now operat- ing seven days a week. Valerie’s Flowers has extended its hours to include 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. Flower arrangements from Valerie’s are also available at Harvest Foods. The Fainting Goat Wine Bar is now open and features a variety of wines, beers and tappas. Future plans include offering wine dinners in September. The adjourning Tea Shoppe will feature different loose- leaf tea and a café with crepes and croissants. Silver MountainBrewsfest is Au- gust 3. Top BBQ runs every Friday through August 30. The gondola is running five days a week through Sept. 2. A new beginner mountain bike trail has been added. Galena Ridge Golf Course and Silver Rap- ids Waterpark are open daily. GyrosPlans for Wallace to host the 2014 Inter- national Gyro Convention are already well under way.
