Reliable, hard-working balers

A proud heritageOver 60 years ago New Holland

introduced the first successful automatichay baler. Farmers recognized its valueimmediately. They rushed to buy it.And that’s the way it continues, withthe latest generation of award-winningbalers.

Excellence in engineeringThe exclusive New Holland rotary

feeding system won the recognition ofthe American Society of AgriculturalEngineers for “excellence in engineeringinnovation and design for a feedingsystem that provides improved balequality, in a variety of crops, with mini-mal adjustment and maintenance.”

Proven performanceCommercial haying operations and

operators who custom-bale for horsefarms are the biggest fans of NewHolland square balers. That’s because

their livelihood depends on makingconsistent bales that meet the exactingdemands of horse and livestock owners. They put their trust in the proven perfor-mance of New Holland balers.

Convenient feedingNew Holland bales are the only choice

for hand feeding. You can quickly sepa-rate the flakes, and with New Hollands’consistent bale density, you know exactlyhow much each animal receives.

Crop-saving capacity and reliability

You’ll find many more award-win-ning benefits to help increase your pro-ductivity:

• The Super-Sweep pickup savesvaluable crop

• The plunger runs on sealed bearingsand packs uniform, dense bales in allcrop conditions

• A gear-driven knotter ties thousandsof bales without a miss

• The exclusive Power-Pivot PTOprovides extra maneuverability

Nobody understands baling quite likeNew Holland. That’s why you can relyon your New Holland baler to be moreproductive, more reliable and easier touse and maintain than ever before.

The 565 is the right size baler...at the right price. Proven perfor-mance, durability, and capacitymake the 565 the right choice fortoday's family farm.

The adjustable feeder back lets youcontrol crop flow into the bale chamber.Simply loosen three bolts on each side, set at the desired position, and thenretighten the bolts.

Tension springs are the economicalway to adjust bale tension. A one-half-inch increase in spring tension equals600 pounds of increased force.

What makes a quality bale?PICKUPS, PLUNGERS AND KNOTTERS

You can rely on your New Hollandbaler to make consistent, high-qual-ity bales season after season. They’re specifically designed toproduce the kind of dense, uniformbales that stack and transport easily.

Super-Sweep pickupsAll balers feature wide Super-

Sweep pickups. The 565 and 570have a 65-inch-width pickup(without flare); 70 inches with theflare. The pickup for the 575 and580 measures 75 inches across (with-out flare); 80 inches on the flare.

Pair this wider pickup area withthe exclusive action of the Super-Sweep pickup, and you’ll get theextra crop that’s missed byconventional pickups.

Multiple rows of pickup teethwork between narrow flangedguards, saving stems and protein-rich leaves. Pickup teeth are madeof durable music wire for extra-long life. Guards also protect tinesfrom damage.

A floating windguard (13-rod onthe 580 and 575, eight on the 570 and565) gets the windrow under controlearly. The pickup gauge wheelguides the pickup smoothly acrossthe changing terrain. It’s adjustableto five positions.

The belt-driven Super-Sweep pick-up is protected against overloads soit’s sure to provide a long, trouble-free life. Plus, the “lost motion drive”capability lets you back up the balerwithout damaging pickup teeth.

Stronger plungerHigh-strength steel is used

throughout the plunger mechanismfor reliable baling. Plunger rails havebeen repositioned to eliminate groov-ing in the bale.

Dependable tyingReliable twine knotters or wire

twisters go thousands of bales with-out a miss. Knotters have hard-sur-face material at important wearpoints for long life and smooth tying.

All balers feature wide, Super-Sweep pickups to get every bit ofyour valuable crop.

The plunger runs on sealed ball-bearing rollers and wear-resistantwhite-iron slides for minimal mainte-nance and fewer adjustments.

The rugged bale chamber is designedfor better bale formation. Six haydogs hold charges in place for firm, quality bales.

Compare theSuper-Sweep

pickup toothon the left to the

straight tooth usedon ordinary pick-

ups. That extra curvemakes the difference in

gathering more crops.

“Thousands of bales without a miss.”It holds true for the dependable knottersand twisters that go on New Hollandbalers. Knotters and twisters are gear dri-ven for a simpler, easy-to-maintain design.Twisters are available on Models 570 and575 only.

Reliable feeders make everybale a quality bale

Rotary feeding system(Models 570, 575, 580)

The exclusive New Hollandrotary feeding system is durable, reliable, easy to service, and easy toadjust. It produces a smoother, even flow of material through thebaler that reduces leaf loss and pro-duces uniform, high quality bales.

A mechanically simple system, the rotary feeder consists of heavy-duty, paired rotating tines and afeeder fork.

The system is timed to keepmaterial flowing evenly into thebale chamber, by allowing the tinesto overlap for smooth, continuouscrop movement.

Finally, the double packer forkfolds the hay into the bale case. The packer fork is adjustable to getoptimum bale shape in differentcrop conditions.

Flow-Action® feeder (Model 565)

The 565 features the exclusivetime-proven Flow-Action® feeder.Six feeder tines are mounted on along feeder bar which runs on sealedroller bearings for quiet, friction-freeoperation.

The tines measure just the rightamount of crop and gently move itto the bale chamber. Leaves don’tshatter – and that means a higherquality bale. Plus, two sets of thetines are adjustable to handledifficult crops.

Both feeding systems are chaindriven for durability and reliability, and are easy to service and adjust.

Better balers deserve better throwers

Improve productivity

Increase productivity by throw-ing bales – as they’re made – rightinto your bale wagon. The Model72 belt-type bale thrower offers reli-able performance and a clean design.

The 72 is compatible withModels 565, 570 and 575 balers. Itcan completely fill an 18-footwagon with bales up to 38 incheslong and 65 pounds in weight

without restricting baler capacity.(Higher bale weights are possible.)

Plus, the thrower’s simple designallows for easier adjustments andservicing. And its durable designprovides troublefree operation, sea-son after season.

Other features

The 72 is designed to makebaling less of a chore. Tractor-

mounted electric distance controlsmake changing throwing speed asnap. Plus, an indicator on thebaler lets you know at a glance thedistance bales are thrown.

The thrower can also be set todrop bales directly on the groundif needed, without removing itfrom the baler.
