From draft to delivery, MacArtney LUXUS Cameras and Lights are designed to combine operational and service flexibility, excellent performance and reliability.

The compact size, modern design and versatile first-rate specifications of the LUXUS Camera and Light units make them ideal for a multitude of demanding underwater tasks and applications - including diving missions, underwater inspection, deck monitoring and deep-water remotely operated vehicle systems.

All LUXUS Camera and Light units are made using cutting-edge components encased in strong and non-oxidising housings manufactured from sandblasted titanium. All units are individually pressure tested to feature a standard depth rating of 4000 metres and require minimal servicing over a long lifetime.

LUXUS Cameras and Lights are fitted with SubConn® connectors or alternative connector types depending on customer specifications.

MacArtney also supplies a range of lightweight, self-contained LUXUS video controller units and a versatile variety of LUXUS Accessories specifically designed for use with LUXUS Cameras and Lights.

The MacArtney range of LUXUS Lights is designed to provide excellent and reliable illumination for a wide range of offshore and underwater applications. Spanning the LUXUS Compact LED, the all purpose LUXUS Power LED, the LUXUS High Power and Wide Angle LED and the LUXUS RGB light for use in turbid environments, the LUXUS Light range offers a lighting solution to fulfil any purpose. All LUXUS Lights are dimmable and designed for wet as well as dry use. This way, they can function perfectly in environments ranging from 4000 metres water depth to vessel deck areas and splash zones.

Featuring high power outputs, automatically resetting thermal protection and the ability to work with different power supplies, the LUXUS Light range offers extensive flexibility to operators.

The MacArtney range of LUXUS Cameras is designed to offer reliability and excellent performance, while allowing for extensive operational flexibility.

Featuring a wealth of options and models including the LUXUS Compact, Low Light, Colour Zoom and the High Definition Camera, the MacArtney LUXUS range is composed to offer an appropriate camera solution for any underwater purpose. The versatile nature of the LUXUS Camera range is characterised by the widespread use of various LUXUS Cameras for diving, inspection, deck monitoring and ROV applications.

LUXUS Cameras are made from first-rate electronic components protected by a sandbalsted titanium housing.

All LUXUS Cameras feature an operational depth rating of 4000 metres.

LUXUS Lights

The MacArtney range of LUXUS Media Controllers comprises of two different solutions.

The LUXUS Compact Media Controller is designed for single diver video inspection and operates perfectly with LUXUS Compact Cameras and Lights. The controller features a user friendly touch screen and is easy to use on location and can handle up to 300 hours of video.

The LUXUS Multi Media Controller is the most advanced video control unit from MacArtney. This controller is easy to use and ideal for those who need to digitally record video data with a flexible overlay function. The unit operates several cameras and lights and is delivered as a portable, splash proof unit with a high-illumination screen for use in poor light conditions.

The MacArtney range of LUXUS Accessories includes several innovative, powerful and practical systems and products all designed to support and optimise the LUXUS range of Cameras and Lights.

LUXUS accessories include the rugged and user friendly LUXUS Dropplate - an innovative underwater instrumentation platform for enabling the remote operation of three LUXUS Power LED Lights and any LUXUS camera. The range also includes the powerful LUXUS Laser Pointer and a full range of dedicated universal, helmet mounting and special brackets ideal for securing the perfect alignment of LUXUS cameras and lights, when mounted on subsea vehicles and equipment.

The LUXUS Compact Camera is ideal for use in diving and light ROV applications. This light sensitive camera has a fixed focal length which can be factory adjusted to capture images at very close range. It can be equipped with different lenses for various angles of view.

The camera consumes just 2 W and can handle DC power units from 12 to 24 VDC.

It is the most compact camera in the LUXUS range and designed to function perfectly in combination with the LUXUS Compact LED and LUXUS Compact Media Controller.

The camera housing is made from sandblasted titanium and has a depth rating of 4000 metres.

Camera

The LUXUS Compact Long Line Driver Camera is a LUXUS Compact Camera fitted with a video signal amplifying unit. This unit increases the signal and compensate losses when the camera is used with extensive cable lengths for applications that do not involve telemetry.

Upon request, all LUXUS Cameras (except the HD models) can be fitted with the long line driver amplifying unit.

The LUXUS High Definition (HD) Ethernet Camera is designed for easy integration with underwater vehicles, systems and sensor platforms. The camera is ideal for use in combination with the LUXUS Power LED.

Since most industry standard underwater telemetry units, including MacArtney NEXUS multiplexers, feature one or more Ethernet ports, the reliable and user friendly Ethernet enabled HD interface provided by the LUXUS HD Ethernet Camera is often preferred by system integrators.

The LUXUS HD Ethernet Camera is equipped with a zoom function and can be adjusted for focus, white balance, iris and a number of other settings. The LUXUS Compact LED light is ideal for diving applications. The LED has an output of 440 or 780 lumen and is available with different reflectors. The LUXUS Compact LED is a wet and dry light and can be used from 4000 metres depth up to the deck without needing to be switched off. The electronics have an auto resetting thermal protection switch that protects the LED and LED driver from high temperatures.

The LUXUS Compact LED can be dimmed with a reference voltage of 0 to 5 VDC, 0 to 10 VDC or with a variable resistor and can be powered with a wide DC range from 15 to 32 VDC. The LUXUS LED driver can be built into the LED light or placed in an external controller, allowing the light to be operated using only 2 wires. The light is delivered with SubConn® or alternative customer specified connectors.

The LUXUS Compact LED is the smallest LED light in the LUXUS range and is designed to function perfectly in combination the LUXUS Compact Camera and LUXUS Compact Media Controller.

The housing is made from sandblasted titanium and has a depth rating of 4000 metres.

The LUXUS RGB (Red, Green, Blue) Light allows the user to remotely control and specify the colour of light used for supporting underwater cameras.

The LUXUS RGB Light provides an effective and user friendly alternative to the use of camera colour filters which often require equipment to be brought to the surface for manual modifiction. The LUXUS RGB Light is designed for use under harsh and turbid conditions in aquatic environments characterised by high levels of algae, stirred up sediment, plankton and particles. Within such environments, the LUXUS RGB Light can improve the quality and detail of captured footage by flexibly applying the ideal colour tone of light for the specific conditions.

LUXUS Compact Media Controller

The LUXUS Compact Media Controller is designed for single diver video inspections and fits perfectly with the LUXUS range of cameras and lights. The digital controller with touch screen and recording device can handle up to 300 hours of video and has a wide range of integrated inputs and outputs as standard.

The unit controls a camera and a light, and includes output for an external monitor and ‘audio in/out’ for recording communication when an external communication device is in use. Both the camera and the light are operated using the control panel, including dimming of the light from 10 to 100%.

A diver umbilical can be connected to the controller with pre-installed bulkhead connectors or with customer specified connectors. The unit can be delivered with a wide range of optional products, including a range of cameras, lights and video cables from the LUXUS range.

The LUXUS Compact Media Controller is equipped for voltage inputs of 90 to 240 VAC. 12 or 24 VDC input is available as an option.

LUXUS Multi Media Controller

The LUXUS Multi Media Controller is the most advanced video unit from MacArtney. It is easy to operate and ideal for those who need to digitally record video data with a flexible video overlay function.

Most parameters are preset to make the system easy to use. The unit runs a total of 4 cameras, of which 2 can be viewed and recorded, and 2 are view only. The unit also operates 2 lights and can control communications between divers. Finally, the LUXUS Multi Media Controller can control a Mesotech MS 1000 sonar system.

The solid state, PC based video unit is robust and user friendly. The unit is splash proof and illuminates in poor light conditions. The video can be overlaid with company logo, date, time and project name. The LUXUS Laser Pointer is ideal as a reference pointer and for size and distance measurements when two units are deployed together. The LUXUS Laser Pointer is available with a red or green coloured laser lens. The lens colour has influence on performance in harsh and turbid environments.

The LUXUS Dropplate is a simple and innovative underwater camera platform enabling the remote operation of three LUXUS Power LED Lights and any LUXUS camera.

Manufactured from high density polyethylene with a frame shielding the onboard cameras and lights from impacts on the seafloor, the LUXUS Dropplate provides the ruggedness and stability needed for performing any basic visual inspection task, even in harsh underwater environments.

The LUXUS Dropplate does not require a specific handling system and can be readily deployed from a small boat or basic vessel of opportunity. Integrated lifting handles make for easy deployment and recovery of the system. A small MacArtney hand winch can also be used.

The LUXUS Dropplate is primarily used for oceanographic and basic inspection applications. The system provides an off-the-shelf, flexible and cost effective alternative to custom built towed camera systems and traditional drop cameras.

The LUXUS Dropplate can be supplied as a plug-and-play solution complete with cameras, lights, controller, cable and optional hand winch.

LUXUS Brackets

For use with LUXUS Cameras and Lights, MacArtney holds a full and dedicated range of LUXUS brackets in stock.

The LUXUS range of universal mounting brackets includes three different standard sizes compatible with all LUXUS models. The brackets are lightweight, yet robust and practical as they allow users to obtain perfect alignment of LUXUS cameras and lights, when mounted on subsea vehicles and equipment. For use with diver helmets, LUXUS helmet mounting brackets are fully compatible with most professional diver helmet brands and models.

MacArtney also supplies a special LUXUS click-on dovetail bracket configuration, which makes it very easy to mount and demount LUXUS equipment on diver helmets and small ROV systems. A final member of to the LUXUS family is the rugged and handy LUXUS pistol grip bracket, which is widely used for diver inspection work.

Manufactured from high grade HDPE and AISI 316 stainless steel, LUXUS brackets are rated for use on 4000 metres water depth.
