Luxembourg Peace Prize CeremonyFor the fourth consecutive year, the Schengen Peace Foundation and the World Peace Forum will be awarding the Luxembourg Peace Prize to outstanding peacemakers and activists as a part of its 9th World Peace Forum 2015.The Schengen Peace Foundation, founded in 2005 and aproved in 2007 by His Royal Higness Grand Duke Henri, as a Peace-Think-Tank, aiming its efforts towards promoting peace and conflict resolution.In the „Spirit of the Schengen“ of a world without borders, the Foundation initiated the World Peace Forum, a global platform for peace activists and peace initiatives. An annual conference connecting peace activits from all around the world in order for them to meet, exchange ideas, and together achieve greater results. In 2011, the 'Luxembourg Peace Prize' was first awarded to outstanding peace-makers. A bronce medal, designed by Luxemburgish artist Sophie Rein and depicting on one side the face of the symbolic Nelson Mandela and on the other side the view from Mandela's prison cell window. EVENT DETAILS AND PROGRAMME
The Luxembourg Peace Prize is awarded to Laureates from around the world that have made an outstanding contribution to world peace in one or another way.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Schengen Peace Foundation and the World Peace Forum will be awarding the Luxembourg Peace Prize to outstanding peacemakers and activists as a part of its 9th World Peace Forum 2015.
This years Luxembourg Peace Prize Ceremony will be taking place at the European Parliament in Luxembourg, on October 2nd, as a conclusion to the 2015 World Peace Forums, held in Cairo, Egypt, and Baia Mare, Romania, in April and May 2015.
