5TH GRADE BOOK REVEAL Family and friends of our 5th Grade student are invited to a Book Reveal celebration on December 18th at 2:30pm in the Elementary Commons. Everyone will see the finished books and celebrate their child’s writing success.
CHRISTMAS BREAK REMINDER We have a full day of school on Friday, December 20th. If you are planning to have your child leave early that day or if your child will not be in attendance that day please notify the office. Please note that this year our Christmas Break will start on Monday, December 23rd and go through Wednesday, January 1st. Classes will resume on Thursday, January 2nd.
LEAVING SCHOOL EARLY Please remember that if your child leaves school prior to the scheduled end of the day (illness, appointment, or other reason), you must stop in the Elementary office and sign your child out on our computer. We need your cooperation to ensure our attendance records are accurate.
2ND GRADE BRING YOUR SWIMSUIT & TOWEL All 2nd grade students begin swimming lessons on Monday, December 9th. Therefore, students will need to bring a swimsuit (no cutoffs are allowed) and a towel to school beginning that Monday. If you have questions regarding these lessons, please contact Mr. Nelson at [email protected]
3RD GRADE SWIMMING LESSONS All 3rd grade students begin swimming lessons on Monday, January 6th. A letter and permission form is being sent home in this week’s Friday Folder. Parents of each 3rd grade student must complete the permission form and return it to the school to be eligible to participate. The deadline for forms to be returned is Monday, December 16th. If you have questions regarding these lessons, please contact Mr. Evans at [email protected] . Please note that all students participating will be required to wear a swimsuit (no cut-off) and bring a towel to dry off. So we hope the next couple weekends will give you time to pull out your child’s swimsuit and make sure it fits for this activity.
KIDS IN THE COMMONS (K-2ND GRADE) TUESDAY, December 10th
This activity is FREE and will run from 3:15–5:00pm. For more information please contact Mrs. Dinger.
SCHOOL BREAKFAST FACTS A great breakfast program is offered at school every day! Here are some fun facts about school breakfast: • It’s easy! Instead of running around in the morning trying to make
sure your children eat a healthy meal, let us do the work. They can get a great breakfast at school, and there will be no dishes for you to wash!
• It’s affordable! If qualified, your child may be able to get breakfast at a reduced price or for free. If your child already eats a free or reduced price lunch, they automatically qualify for a free or reduced price breakfast.
• It’s tasty! Schools now have more variety to choose from when deciding what to offer your children for breakfast. Request a menu so you can view what your child may be eating at school.
• It’s good for the brain! Research suggests that not having breakfast can affect children’s intellectual performance.
DRESSING FOR THE COLD WEATHER We want to remind parents that students will have recess outside on almost all winter days. The exception is whenever the temperature is below zero. If and when the temperature reaches that point, our students will then stay inside for recess. We do take wind chill into consideration.
RESTOCKING SCHOOL SUPPLIES We would like to encourage parents to talk to their children before break about their school supply needs. School supplies make great stocking stuffers. Common supply needs include: pencils, erasers, dry erase markers and glue. If you have specific questions about your child’s supplies, please contact their teacher.
COMMUNITY EDUCATION NOTES K-2 Basketball Reminder: There will be basketball this Saturday. Just a reminder that it will take place in the MS/HS Gym. Please enter under the canopy.
