1. History

San Yi people came to Taiwan in the year of 1723 from China, and built the LungShan Temple in 1738.

2. Location

It is located in Taipei, Wan Hwa Dictrict. The Wan Hwa District used to be the first develop

ed commercial center of north Taiwan. Nowadays it is a part of Taipei city, you can get th

ere by MRT.

3.1 Building The gyroidal ceiling is a special part of the main p

art of the temple, other temples don’t even have a ceiling like this. The gyroidal ceiling can support the roof.

3.2 Building The Dragon Pillar is a special and famous part of

the temple. It is made of gunmetal, and it is the only Pillar that is made of gunmetal all around Taiwan.

4. Gods There are 24 statues of gods in the whole temple.The main temple: 觀世音菩薩 , 文殊菩薩 , 伽藍護法 , 十八羅漢 , 普賢菩薩 , 韋馱護法 .

The back temple: 文昌帝君 , 大魁星君 , 紫陽夫子 , 媽祖 , 馬爺 , 太陽星君 , 太陰星君 , 註生娘娘 , 池頭夫人 , 水仙尊王 , 城隍爺 , 龍爺 , 福德正神 , 關聖帝君 , 三官大帝(天官 , 地官 , 水官 ), 華陀仙師 , 地藏王菩薩 .

5.Reconstruction of the Temple The first reconstruction was in 1814. Because of an

earthquake. The second reconstruction was in 1867, because of a

hurricane. The third reconstruction was in 1919, because of the

termites. The fourth reconstruction was in 1954, because of World

War 2. The last reconstruction was in 1970, because the bugs and

germs ate it up again.
