It was found that Catholic Holy Week, ChW, for either year 30AD or 33AD does not conform to a Calculated Hebrew Calendar, CHC. For year 30AD the CHC has Nissan 1 on Thursday 21 March, this corresponds by Table 2 with Saturday for Niss10 and Thursday for Niss15. Niss10 is Palm Sunday for the ChW. Niss15 is Good Friday for ChW. For year 33AD the CHC has Nissan 1 on Saturday 19 March, this corresponds (Table 2) with Monday for Niss10 and Saturday for Niss15. To cover for this defect, some resort to a pseudo Observational Hebrew Calendar , pOHC. This is done by pontification of a pseudo sited moon . Pseudo because there are no records apart from scripture. But scripture is silent about lunar effects and eclipses. Some of the pOHC’s call Nissan 01 as being on Thursday for 30AD and Friday for year 33AD. Other pOHC may use other dates. Much discussion can be found on means to determine a day for 1 st observational new moon , on a clear sky day. DESCRIPTION

A description of issues related to using lunar calendar methods to find the year of Christ resurrection. Based on this review, the year 33 AD is eliminated as a possible year for the resurrection of Jesus the Christ. This is because the lunar eclipse of 33 AD places Jesus Crucifixion on a Friday, Nissan 14. If Friday is Nissan 14, then Palm Sunday, Nissan 10, would have to become Palm Monday. Palm Monday does not conform to the Catholic Holy Week narrative and tradition. These concepts are detailed with charts, calculations and reference hyperlinks in this 3 page brief.

A simple method to determine date for an astronomical newmoon is by lunation number. The basis is that our moonrotates earth about once every 29.530589 days. Thuslunation numbers or ‘molad’ may be referenced to a givennew moon date. For the Brown Lunation number (BLN)Lunation 1 occurred at approximately 02:41 UTC, January 17,1923. The associated Julian Day is 2423407.00. The JD#formula is: = (2423407 + 29.530589*BLN). Given a BLN thenone may find the JDN and via many calendar routines, theGregorian or other dates may be found for that new moon. One caveat is the effect of rotation drag slowing. The slowingeffect is about 3 hours in 2000 years. Results of BLN are givenin Table 1, Formula row. As seen it gives better results thansome web sites. Proponents of Lunation Number method saythe accuracy is +/- ¼ a day. Lunation number is referenced toother calendars like: Thai LN/Buddhism, Islamic LN andHebrew LN/ CHC. All are simple variants of the BLN.

Another method of first visible new moon, Cairo Egypt,(15min diff to Jerusalem) is by the Islamic ProlepticObserved Calendar. For the year 30AD, the 1st day ofRajab was Friday G22Mar., corresponds to Friday Nis15or a perfect ChW. For year 33AD, Sha’ban01 is SaturdayG19Mar., corresponds to Saturday Nis15. A SaturdayNis15 (start sundown Friday) corresponds to the lunareclipse data of 33AD, JD#1733204.23. Conceptevaluation was from Eclipse dates for month of Nissanspanning about 2000 years, for 136 total and partialeclipses. Eclipses are between 15th & 16th astronomicallunar day. However on the CHC the dates ranged from14th to 17th day, with average date of 15Nissan. Usingobservational Islamic calendar on eclipse dates, showsobserved new moon lagged the astronomical new moonby 1-3.5 days. The Islamic average observational lag is2days +/- 1 day.

Which is Palm Sunday becomes Palm Monday, per Table 2.Because Nissan 10 falls on a Monday, for Friday N14. The dayof Nissan 10 is an important consideration in Passover. PalmSunday, Nissan 10 is the day of the lamb selection. There areno gospel narratives indicating Jesus rode into Jerusalem afterdark on Palm Sunday.

33AD Lunar Eclipse NotesProponents of 33AD resurrection like to tout a(PARTIAL) lunar Eclipse in April 33AD, adnauseas. Such event has no scriptural basis. Tothe contrary the 33AD eclipse indicates Christwas NOT crucified in 33 AD. A careful reading ofgospel accounts shows absolutely NO mentionof a crucifixion blood moon nor any other lunarphenomena. The Gospel accounts give amplementions of light conditions surrounding andduring the crucifixion time of Jesus, like: length of time Christ was on the cross, start and end mention of complete darkness during the crucifixion time of day when the body was requested time of day when Mary visits the empty tomb andthe light conditions; early in morning, while yet dark time when the guards were requested to be placedat Jesus tomb

Yet in none of these events will one find eventhe slightest mention of any non routine lunarphenomena. _____________________________________

33AD Lunar Eclipse NotesThis should be sufficient proof to anyone, who followsscripture, that this event did NOT happen near anylunar eclipse. Such a natural Lunar Eclipse event woulddetract from the supernatural nature of events on thatfateful day. The lunar eclipse in April 33AD, the lack ofscriptural mention for such event, and vivid lightcondition descriptions by the gospels, more aptly

indicate that 33AD is not the correct resurrection year.

Following the CHCfor the JD number(1733204.23) ofEclipse start, placesthe Eclipse on15Nissan as 15Nisbegan only afterFriday sundown. There is an issuewith a Friday/Saturday Nis15crucifixion date.
