The crystal growth, InGaN epitaxy, is our core technology. Based on the principles of the Nobel Prize winner Professor Zhores I. Alferov, his scientists from the Ioffe Institute in St. Petersburg founded Optogan and patented the epitaxial structures of growing low dislocation heterostructures on gallium nitride (GaN). epimaxxTM represents the benefits of our epitaxy.

Our company focuses on energy efficient and environment friendly general lighting. Optogan is one of the technology leaders when it comes to the development and production of high brightness light-emitting diodes (HB LEDs) for a large variety of solid state lighting applications.

The international team of LED professionals and experts clearly differentiate themselves through their strong customer orientation. The Optogan Group, with its 300 employees, has plants in Landshut (Germany), Dortmund (Germany), Helsinki (Finland) and St. Petersburg (Russia).

About us LED Lamps and Luminaires

Optogan-equipped LED lamps can now replace their counter-parts from earlier technologies and generations. State-of-the-art technology that suits applications ranging from storage spaces the size of football fields to the comfort of domestic living areas means that LED light bulbs are now becoming true retrofit products.

LED lamps do not produce heat. This is a common myth. All LED‘s produce heat, but when cooled properly to main-tain their optimal function it is unlikely that you will burn your fingers on the lamps that we supply. Being cost efficient means they won’t burn a hole in your pocket either.

With fossil resources dwindling, the need to utilise the highly efficient conversion of electrical energy for lighting is becoming increasingly apparent. With conversion rates of up to 100 lumen per watt, our LED-powered lamps and luminaires help to save energy from the instant they are turned on.

LEDs offer a multitude of benefits, for example in the case of technical luminaires using LEDs, which can be used to create ultra-thin sources of light. With LEDs, light guide technology can be no thicker than a sheet of paper. Small, white and tight: the dream of every luminaire designer is becoming reality.
