Positive results throughout the Club
At the Christmas break our on-field results have been very encouraging. All senior teams, vets
and junior teams in each junior age group are right in the mix for finals this season. If we all
continue to play with great spirit, listen to our captains and coaches, we could have a very
exciting March ahead at The Den!
Shifter & George bring up 150 matches
Two of our club favourites reached the 150 club match milestone prior to the Christmas break.
Luke ‘Shifter’ Petersen has a long list of club accolades with multiple club Champions, First XI
batting averages, Club Captain/Coach three times and of course ‘that guy’ who made 447
not out! Luke first played for the club in 1996/97 but became a key leader and integral part of
the club in the early and mid 2000s when the club won our only Money Shield and competed
in Barclay Shield.
George Tsilemanis also brought up his 150th match, and his love of playing cricket is 2nd to none
(well maybe Grant). Having played just about every Vets match, GT has managed to clock up
his 150th in just his 9th season at the club. With his 50th birthday not far away, it is amazing to see
him back-up on weekends and continue to take a mountain of wickets. As testament to his
consistency, George has collected five bowling averages during his time with the Tigers.
$2500 Reverse Draw – Sunday 12th February
Our biggest and best event of the season is on Sunday 12th February. Our $2500 draw is aimed
at a fun & entertaining day for our over 18s (players, parents, supporters, family & friends) to
enjoy.
Entry is $50 and includes drink package, lunch, live music and a chance to win $2500 cash! The
drink package is from 12pm – 4pm and includes beer, wine, soft drinks. Spirits are $2. Please
support the club by attending the event and selling off tickets to your friends and family!

Junior Report
Firstly congratulations to Gurnaz Khatra, Aryan Sharma & Grace Wake who will be representing
the DVCA in the upcoming junior carnivals in January. We also congratulate Julian Marshall, who
played 50 junior matches with the club, who will be representing Northern Metro in the Victorian
U14 championships.
At the season break we have had some outstanding team performances to date with our 16s &
14s (1) sides sitting in the top 4 and our 12s (1) sitting 5th equal on points with 4th, our 14s & 12s
2nd sides continue to improve and are competitive in every game.
We have also had some outstanding individual performances with Connor making a 100no
along with a 50no, Gurnaz making two 50s and a 50 each to Antonio & Jai Bhan. With the ball,
we had Antonio take a hatrick in his 4/28, Jarrod 4/9, Riley 4/19 and Hasheel 4/2.
Our two Under 10s sides continue to improve with every game and with still a few matches left in
the new year, the coaches will be getting the kids ready to step up to competitive cricket next
season.
Our 14s (1) side resumes on the 18th January, whilst all other 12s, 14s & 16s will resume on the 3rd
Feb. Our u10s will start back on Wednesday 8th February.
