40-52Forging dies and punches in presses. Punches for extrusion of non-ferrous alloys. Moulds for gravity die casting of light alloys, especially Al. Knives for hot cutting. Pressure die casting of aluminum alloys, in smaller or less complex parts. Blades for hot knives. Note: Impact energy greater than 200 J, for test specimens without a notch, according to NADCA #207-90; and greater than 10.8J (8 ft. lb), for test specimens with a V notch, according to NADCA #207-2008 – Premium Quality.
40-52Moulds for gravity die casting of light alloys, especially Al and Mg alloys, in complex or larger size parts. Moulds for thermoplastic polymer injection, with a high polishability and high mechanical resistance. High performance dies for forging presses. Blades for hot knives. Note: Impact energy greater than 250 J, for test specimens without a notch, according to NADCA #207-90; and greater than 13.5J (10 ft. lb), for test specimens with a V notch, according to NADCA #207-2008. Material remelted via ESR. Superior Quality.
40-52Dies and components for pressure die casting of non-ferrous alloys, mainly aluminum. Forging dies, especially the ones that present complex dimensions or that do need a high resistance to cracking. Note: impact resistance > 300 J (test specimens taken from center and heat treated to attain 44/46 HRC). Premium Quality (NADCA).
40-52Steel developed to promote hot mechanical resistance equivalent to the H11 and H13 steels, but with a much superior toughness. Resistance to impact greater than 300 J, and testing according to NADCA. ESR remelted material. Applications: dies for pressure die casting of non-ferrous alloys, such as Al alloys, for which the TENAX 300 IM is recommended; forging dies and punches of complex geometry or subject to cracking and spinning for hot extrusion of non-ferrous alloys, especially Al. Superior Quality (NADCA).
40-52Dies and punches for forging, including applications of hot upsetting and inserts, where its high hot resistance can promote a significant performance improvement. Dies for pressure die casting and extrusion of aluminum and other non-ferrous metals. Premium Quality (NADCA).
40-52Steel with hot mechanical resistance rather superior to the H11 and H13 steels and good toughness. Material is ESR remelted. Typical applications: dies and punches for hot forging in press; dies for pressure die casting of non-ferrous alloys, in which the IM version is recommended and extrusion dies of Al alloys and Cu alloys. Superior Quality (NADCA).
40-52 Double remelted material (ESR/VAR) showing enhanced homogeneity and greater isotropy than VH13IM.
40-50 Steel for tools with a maximum yield for continuous jobs at high temperatures and not subject to thermal shocks. Indicated for punches, press disks for extrusion machines, dies for presses and for automotive valve forging dies.

High speed steel with a high versatility, with an excellent combination of toughness and wear resistance. Indicated for high quality twist drills, milling cutters of all types, taps, chasers, drill bits and machining tools in general. It is also used for cutting dies, punches, deep stamping dies and other cold plastic deformation tools.

Capable of attaining hardness values of up to 68 HRC, as 8% cobalt gives it excellent characteristics of wear resistance and red hardness. High speed steel with a greater vanadium content and, therefore, with a higher wear resistance. Due to a special processing, it guarantees finer carbides and good characteristics as to millibility. It is used mainly in the manufacturing of taps and cores.

Sintered steel made by powder metallurgy. Due to its elevated toughness properties, isotropy and wear resistance, it is indicated for special cutting tools such as spiral milling cutter, fellow blades, special drill bits, etc. and tools for cold working with cutting dies, extrusion punches, cutting punches, etc.

Steel made under vacuum degassing, having an enhanced machinability through Calcium inclusion treatment. Main benefits are hardness uniformity with a variation under 2 HRC throughout the part’s cross section. Excellent weldability. High polishability (except for mirror-like grade) and high performance and manufacturing reproducibility. Mould holders, moulds for non-chlorinated plastic thermo- injection, dies for non-chlorinated thermo-plastic extrusion, moulds for blowing, hot chambers, when corrosion resistance is not necessary and several applications in moulds for plastics. Not recommendable for applications in which toughness and mirror-like finish grade are design requirements.
- 30 - 34Steel supplied as machined. It has good polishability and high texturization. It has enhanced machinability through special melt shop treatment. For improved wear resistance it can be nitrided or case hardened. Moulds for injection and extrusion of non-chlorinated and little abrasive thermoplastics. Large dimension moulds.
- 30 - 34Steel supplied as machined. It has good polishability and high texturization and the same machinability improvement as VP20ISO. For improved wear resistance it can be nitrided or case hardened. Recommended for moulds with thicknesses of up to 600 mm, such as moulds for injection and extrusion of non-chlorinated and little abrasive thermoplastics.
S= 0,07 30 - 34Steel supplied as machined. It has an excellent machinability. Good nitriding response. Not recommended for parts that require texturization, chrome-plating and high polishability processes. Moulds for injection/extrusion of non-chlorinated and little abrasive thermoplastics that require low polishability. Mould bases and frames for plastic. Injection cores and moulds.
- 38 - 42Steel supplied as machined. It has a good polishability and texturizing response. For wear resistance enhancement it can be nitrided or case hardened. Due to the high hardness care must be taken when machining. Moulds for non-chlorinated plastics. Moulds for blowing. Dies for non-chlorinated thermoplastic extrusion.
Si=0,80 40 - 52Stainless steel after quenching and tempering. It has as its main advantage a high corrosion resistance, which allows for applications in wet environments. Moulds for chlorinated thermoplastic injection. Work and storage in wet atmosphere. Glass industry.

40 - 42Tool steel for moulds specially developed to be hardened through ageing heat treatment, with resistance higher than VP20. It has excellent polishability and texturization properties. It has an excellent weldability. Moulds for non-chlorinated thermoplastic injection. Moulds for charge reformed thermoplastics.

24 - 40Precipitation hardened stainless steel. It has excellent properties on: dimensional and shape stability; weldability; corrosion resistance; polishability and response to texturization.Steel used for tools for the conformation of thermoplastics, including under corrosive processes (conformation of chlorinated polymers). It can withstand and be stored in wet environments.

30 - 34Steel with excellent machinability and weldability associated with a good mechanical resistance and resistance to corrosion, allowing work under wet environments, such as the ones found in hot chambers and warehouse conditions, such as mould holders and Fasteners. It can also be used in moulds for non-chlorinated thermoplastic polymer injection, extrusion and blowing, with a low demand on polishability.
