Iceland Aborts 100% Of Babies With Down Syndrome

[An August 2017 news] report from CBS News details how 100 percent of babies in Iceland who are diagnosed with Down syndrome prenatally are aborted. This has "almost completely eliminated Down syndrome births since the test began in the early 2000s," Elaine Quijano of CBS explained....

Notable Pro-Life Quotes

“It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish.”

- St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta (1910-1997)

I’ve noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born.

-President Ronald Reagan (1911-2004)

Fewer women would have abortions if wombs had windows.

-Dr. Bernard Nathanson, former abortionist (1926-2011)

Abortion is the ultimate exploitation of women.

- Alice Paul, American suffragette (1885-1977)

All that is required for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.

-Edmund Burke, Irish statesman (1729-1797)

Abortion is the only event that modern liberals think too violent or obscene to portray on TV. This is not because they are squeamish or prudish. It is because if people knew what abortion really looked like, it would destroy their pretense that it is a civilized answer to the problem of what to do about unwanted babies.

- Peter Hitchens, British author and journalist b. 1951

How can the “Dream” survive if we murder the children? Every aborted baby is like a slave in the womb of his or her mother. The mother decides his or her fate.

-Rev. Martin Luther King (1929-1968)

When I speak, I speak not only for myself, but for the other survivors..and also those who cannot yet speak.

- Gianna Jessen, saline abortion survivor b. 1977

I wanted to meet my biological mother mostly to see if she was okay and to thank her, because I’m glad I didn’t end up as an abortion. She was 23 and went through a lot to have me.

A Newfoundland mother wants an apology from the hospital where, she says, a doctor suggested her daughter should be euthanized. Sheila Elson says she’s particularly upset because her 25-year-old daughter, Candice Lewis, overheard the conversation and has been traumatized, reports the Northern Pen.

Lewis has suffered since birth from a number of medical conditions, including spina bifida, cerebral palsy and chronic seizure disorder. She was admitted to Labrador-Grenfell Health hospital at St. Anthony’s in September 2016, the Northern Pen reported. Elson alleged that Dr. Aaron Heroux told her at that time assisted suicide was legal and her daughter qualified.

“This left me dumbfounded and I told him it was something I did not want to consider,” Elson told the Northern Pen. She reiterated this to the CBC. “The doctor wanted me to do assisted suicide death on her, told me that it was legal in Canada now and that he would like to help me with it,” she says in a CBC video.... Elson told CBC: “I was shocked, and said, ‘Well, I’m not really interested,’ and he told me I was being selfish.” When the CBC reporter asked Lewis what she felt about it, she replied, “I didn’t want to go, either.”

Elson told the CBC and Northern Pen that her daughter overheard the conversation in the hallway and has been distressed by it. She wrote about the encounter in a November 21 [2016] letter to Barbara Molgaard-Blake, chief operating officer south region for Labrador-Grenfell Health, reports the Northern Pen....Elson told the CBC that there were other troubling incidents, such as a nurse referring to Lewis as a “frequent flyer,” which she says was unfeeling. “She’s sick. [When] she gets sick, you take her to the hospital,” Elson said. “Whether she’s there 10 times a week or 25 times a day, she’s still a human being.” Lewis, who has had 62 operations and requires 24-hour care, is capable of communicating, reports the Northern Pen, but Elson expressed doubt in her letter that her daughter fully understands what assisted suicide is. “She can make decisions like if she’s hungry, but when it comes to medical decisions, she’s not capable of making those decisions,” Elson wrote. Molgaard-Blake did not respond to Elson until June 6, when she wrote the doctors involved didn’t intend any disrespect, the Northern Pen reported. Elson described the letter as a joke, it reported.... Alex Schadenberg, executive director of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, described the situation as “disgusting.” The Liberal government’s Bill C-14, which legalized euthanasia in June 2016, “actually gave the power to the physician over life and death,” he said. And once euthanasia is legal, “it’s natural” situations will come up “where some doctor thinks he’s helping someone by killing their daughter or by urging them to have their daughter die,” he told LifeSiteNews.... Canadian Woman Treats Her

Baby Like Trash. . – AND Gets

Off Scott Free

A woman charged with leaving the body of her full-term baby daughter wrapped in a plastic bag on her apartment balcony in 2006 was found to be within her legal rights by an Ontario judge. The judge ruled there was a “reasonable possibility” that the mother killed her daughter before birth and then self-aborted — a decriminalized procedure in Canada — before concealing her body.

“The practical effect of the law, as I interpret it, is that any woman can destroy her near-term or term fetus and can induce an abortion accordingly and do what she will with the remains without risking any criminal sanctions,” wrote Justice Toni Skarica in his decision, released [September 24, 2014] from a Brampton courthouse.

The judge said that while he found his own verdict “deeply disturbing” and “disgusting at any moral level,” he was nonetheless “bound by the law as the Supreme Court of Canada interprets it.”

Former prostitute and stripper Ivana Levkovic, 32, is now a free woman.

Levkovic admitted to police that she abandoned her daughter’s body on the balcony of her vacated apartment in Mississauga, Ontario after a building superintendent’s discovery of the remains garnered media attention.

....the Supreme Court ruled that ... a “fetus becomes a child for the purpose of s. 243 when the fetus has reached a stage when, but for some external event or circumstance, it would likely have been born alive.” “To support a conviction under s. 243, it must be shown that the ‘remains’ disposed of were the remains of a child,” said the Supreme Court. “In cases involving death before birth, the burden is therefore on the Crown to prove that the fetus would likely have been born alive.” Justice Skarica ruled on Wednesday that since evidence could not determine that the child was born alive, there was no ground upon which to convict Levkovic.

Levkovic's lawyer, Michael Moon, said the ruling abides by Canada’s current legal vacuum on abortion. "We have also been clear throughout that this case represented an unwarranted encroachment on a woman's reproductive choice,” he told Mississauga News. “There are no limits, in law, as to when or how a woman exercises her right to abortion in Canada, and while Justice Skarica, in his ruling, bemoaned Parliament's inaction on the abortion issue in this regard, the law is the law, and we are entitled to rely on the law as it stands." Freedom of Religion in Canada

An update on Marilyn Gladu:

A Private Member’s Bill that M.P. Marilyn Gladu presented in the House of Commons was passed with unanimous support! Her bill, An Act providing for the Development of a Framework on Palliative Care in Canada (Bill C-277), is now before the Senate of Canada for review.

Marilyn Gladu has recently been appointed the Shadow Minister for Health – Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition. This position puts her in a position of influence in terms of commenting on euthanasia and abortion.

In the summer 2017 edition of the newsletter to her constituents,

The Federal Express, Ms. Gladu noted her concern about an aspect of Bill C-51

which is designed to eliminate archaic laws. She wrote: This bill was supposed to be cleaning up laws that are no longer needed, but one that they will eliminate is the current law that makes it illegal to disrupt a religious ceremony or threaten a cleric. This has the potential to interfere with our freedom of religion, so I will be strongly opposing this.

Bill C-51 would remove Section 176 from the Criminal Code of Canada. This is the only Canadian law that directly protects the rights of individuals

to practice their religion. It is essential that we retain the right to freely express our support for life in religious settings without fear of outside interference. There have been incidents in some countries where pro-abortion activists have attempted to vandalize a church or disrupt services. Here are a few examples:

In March 2017, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, radical pro-abortion feminists attempted to burn down a cathedral: www.lifesitenews.com/news/womens-day-demonstrators-attack-buenos-aires-cathedral-male-defender

In 2013, pro-abortion radicals, some of them topless women, aggressively attacked men who prayerfully surrounded San Juan Cathedral in San Juan, Argentina. Thousands of protestors were trying to storm the church. You can see the video here: www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=12&v=fOCD_T9Qqpc

In 2014, a woman from the pro-abortion group FEMEN disrupted a Christmas Eve Mass in Cologne, Germany. The topless activist jumped on the altar with the words “I am God” written on her torso. www.lifesitenews.com/news/topless-pro-abort-activist-leaps-on-top-of-altar-during-christmas-mass-in-c

Removing Section 176 from the Criminal Code could endanger the security of participants at March for Life and Life Chain. Section 176 is necessary because it states that anyone who “wilfully disturbs or interrupts an assemblage of persons met for religious worship or for a moral, social or benevolent purpose is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction.”

We strongly urge you to contact your M.P. and the Canadian Minister of Justice to insist that Section 176 remain on the books.

Is Abortion Pill Reversal “Junk Science” ? Try Telling that to Rebekah

by Rachel Leigh The following is an excerpt from: https://pregnancyhelpnews.com/is-abortion-pill-reversal-junk-science-try-telling-that-to-rebekah

On April 19, 2017 Rebekah Buell stood before California’s State Assembly to defend AB 2134, a bill stating that all abortion clinics providing the abortion pill RU486 must also inform their clients of the pill’s reversal alternative.

While still a 17-year-old high school student, Buell became pregnant with her first child. Determined not to become a stereotypical teenage mother, she managed to graduate early, get accepted into Sacramento State University and marry the father of her child. Soon after her marriage, however, Buell realized she was in an unhealthy and potentially dangerous relationship.... “Right as I began the divorce process I found out I was pregnant again.” ...“I really thought that having another baby would hurt my son’s life. I’d be losing my family’s support,” Buell said....

After finding a [Planned Parenthood] clinic, Buell went in for a consultation....“I’m holding the abortion pill [RU486] in a cup and we’re talking about it. I kept thinking, chemical abortions are supposed to be less invasive and less painful. My concern was that it would be easy to hide since I was living with my parents.” Deciding she had no other option, Buell took the pill and was sent on her way.

It was a decision she instantly regretted. “I got into my car and thought, ‘Oh Lord, what did I just do?’ I started thinking about my son at home that I adored. I started thinking about the baby I was carrying and what that pill was doing to the baby at the moment. I started crying and praying,” Buell said.

While still sitting in the parking lot of Planned Parenthood, Buell googled options for reversing the abortion pill. After a

seemingly fruitless search, she stumbled across AbortionPillReversal.com On the site was a number, 1-877-558-0333, for women having second thoughts about taking the abortion pill. Although she

felt ashamed to speak to anyone pro-life, Buell summoned the courage to dial the number. “A nurse explained to me that a medical journal about a reversal-protocol had been recently released, which called for progesterone injections being put back into your body. She then told me I still had a chance of saving the baby.”

Buell was referred to a doctor a few hours away who was willing to give the injections a try. “The doctor was hopeful, but it wasn’t 100 percent,” Buell said. “He immediately started injections as well as suppositories until I hit about 13 or 14 weeks.”.... Seven months later, Buell gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby boy. Now, over two years later, Buell is a senior at a private Christian college, studying professional writing and theology. After her near abortion, she has become a pro-life speaker and advocate.

As her family has grown, the Abortion Pill Reversal network has gained traction across the country. Buell’s experience was an early example of what has now become over 200 babies rescued from abortion since the life-saving process was first pioneered in 2012. Today, over 300 physicians in the United States are equipped to reverse the effects of mifepristone under certain circumstances....

Having a baby doesn’t ruin your life, it just changes it,” Buell said. “I’ve met so many women who regretted having abortions but never met a woman who regretted having her child. Abortion is so permanent. It’s forever. It’s going to change your life.”

Angela Moesker is a long-time volunteer with Lambton Right to Life. She attended the National

March for Life in Ottawa on May 11, 2017. Here is her account of this huge event:

My mother, sister and I had the opportunity to drive to Ottawa to be a part of the National March for Life held on May 11th. Parliament Hill was alive with many pro-lifers, visiting together and waiting for the day to unfold. We were able to get signs, posters, flyers, T-shirts, and hats right on Parliament Hill to use as a witness during the March, as well as for use at home. The event started at 12:30 PM with many speakers. Several M.P’s that are pro-life were present and were given an opportunity to speak. It was very nice to see and hear our local members of Parliament speak to the crowd.

Try to picture it: At the microphone was the speaker, on the speaker’s right were the M.P.’s, and behind the speaker and to the left were people holding signs. Some read “I REGRET MY ABORTION”; others read “MISSED FATHERHOOD”. It was quite a sobering view. I would say that there were thousands there to support the March for Life. We were able to march on the streets of Ottawa with hardly any opposition. At each intersection there was a large police presence, but not many counter-protestors showed up.

There were numerous signs and banners supporting Pro-life. Some were handmade, but the majority were happy faces with the motto for this year’s March: “WE STAND ON GUARD FOR THEE.” On the other side it said “I’M PRO-LIFE!” We could get these signs on the Hill in French or in English. Other signs said “PROTECT PRE-BORN RIGHTS”, and even “ATHEISTS AGAINST ABORTION”. Many walks of life were meeting together for a common purpose – to celebrate life!

It was mentioned that the Mayor of Ottawa had allowed the Pro-life flag to be flown at City Hall -- wonderful news! But alas, that lasted only a short while before it was taken down due to complaints, even though the proper protocol had been taken for permission to fly the flag.

The March lasted about an hour long and afterwards, there were testimonials and more speakers on the centre lawn of Parliament.

It was such a wonderful opportunity to be a witness for life with thousands of other pro-lifers. If you ever

have the opportunity to go to March for Life, please go – It’s a life changing experience! It makes

you more aware of our fight to work together to protect life, from Conception to Natural Death.
