In his own words

The basic idea for LP Circle flowed from experience with the Ørestad School

OreLED fixture. Mikkel Beedholm of KHR arkitekter explains the design

idea: “The aim was for the fixture to not simply slice through the ceiling

like a tin can – we wanted the collar to give the fixture character and interplay

with the building’s architecture, adding an extra dimension to the

interior through variegated reflection of the light.”

“The choice of colors is also unusual for a ceiling fixture. The

colored rings have a positive effect on reducing glare and highlighting the

shape of the luminaire. They also add color to what are often colorless

rooms, in both their lit and unlit state.”

LP Circle has been developed to meet all the challenges that can arise when planning

lighting. One could almost think of it as a lighting tool, but this does not tell the

whole story.

LP Circle is a ceiling lighting system that goes further than simply fulfilling practical

needs. LP Circle is permeated by our attitude to light, which focuses on optimizing

human well-being in indoor environments.

High Output (HO) / High Efficiency (HE)

LP Circle Ø 17.7” is available in two versions with high output/high efficiency, which

achieves an efficiency of up to 108 lm/W. We also offer a prismatic version with UGR

Easy and convenient mounting

A newly developed mounting bracket allows

the fixture to be installed without using tools.

An ergonomically correct shape makes it

simple and easy to tighten optimally.

Ceiling interface

A polycarbonate ring with a dust-repellent shape

ensures a precise and elegant ceiling interface.

Diffuser

The diffuser has an opal finish to prevent LED

“spots” and direct glare, while still permitting

high-efficiency light penetration without signifi-

cant energy loss. The depth of the diffuser to

the bottom section of the trim ring is identical

on all versions, paving the way for a uniform

design idiom and lighting design on the ceiling.

The diffuser bends 0.1” toward the trim ring,

which creates an optical effect of two separate

elements.

Elegant trim ring

The voluminous trim ring is made of aluminum

that has been bent perpendicular to the ceil-

ing, but angles out at 5° from the diffuser to

the bottom edge. This results in an attractive

gradation of the light on the shade interior.

The continuous color rendering of LEDs has given interior colors and materials a new life.

Louis Poulsen supplies LED light sources with two standard color temperatures –

3000K and 4000K. The smooth transitions in the spectral curves between blue, green,

yellow, and red ensure that middle hues also stand out clearly, making LEDs not only

highly energy efficient but also the right choice when you want to experience the

world in genuine colors.

Installation

1. Place the frame inside the fitted hole in the ceiling.

2. Attach the frame to the ceiling by pressing the ring against the ceiling and

locking the four gripper mountings.

3. Connect the fixture unit to the power supply.

4. Push the fixture unit all the way up inside the frame.

5. Turn the fixture unit in a clockwise direction to engage the bayonet clips

onto the frame.
