Two extraordinary golf courses. One extraordinary golf club.

Tom Fazio, one of the most outstanding

golf course designers in modern times,

used his unique talents to create a

memorable and dramatic course at

Lowes Island. The front nine is a

lowlands course with several holes along the Potomac.

The back nine winds through a wooded ridge that has an

almost mountain like feel to it. Stunning in its own right, the

Arthur Hills course is an excellent complement to the Fazio

lay-out. All of the elements that promote strategy and pro-

vide beauty are evident in the design. It has smaller greens

with more undulations, relating carefully to the natural

terrain. Water comes into play on ten of the 18 holes. Playing

close to 7000 yards from the championship tees, both courses

challenge golfers of all skill levels as they progress up the wooded

valleys, across lakes and marshes and

along the banks of the Potomac River.

Nature set the stage at Lowes Island.

Tom Fazio and Arthur Hills responded

with some of their finest work.
