OWNER’S RIGHT TO REJECT PROPOSALS
A. A Bidder may not modify, withdraw or cancel a Bid, within ninety (90) calendar days following the bid opening.
B. The Owner reserves the right to accept a bid in part or portion
thereof by issuance of a valid purchase order within ninety (90) calendar days following the bid opening.
C. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and/or all Bids submitted
either in whole or part.
D. The Owner reserves the right to negotiate with any Bidder without rebidding the project in whole or in part.

INSTALLER QUALIFICATIONS A. All Technicians and Cable Installers must provide proof of current manufacturer’s training certificate before allowed on job site. Current training certificates shall be provided to owner before work begins. Owner reserves the right to check all employee certificates throughout project duration. Contractor will staff the project with Contractor employees only. PROJECT CLOSEOUT AND WARRANTY A. The horizontal communications cabling system installed shall be eligible for coverage by a Limited Lifetime Warranty to the end user. B. Optimized Installer/Optimized Integrator shall provide labor, materials, and documentation in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements necessary to ensure that the Owner will be furnished Manufacturer’s Warranty. C. The installed structured cabling system shall provide a warranty guaranteeing installed channel performance above the ANSI/TIA 568-C requirements for Cat 6 cabling systems. D. Installer shall ensure that the Owner receives the manufacturer issued project warranty certificate within 60 calendar days of warranty registration. E. Test Reports shall be delivered to Owner within 30 days upon completion of project. One hard copy and one electronic copy on a thumb drive shall of color test reports for individual cable tests shall be delivered. Summary sheets are not acceptable. Fiber Optic Test Reports shall include Bi-directional OTDR testing as well as Light Loss Testing. F. As-Built Drawings with accurate, annotated drop numbers and primary pathways shall be delivered to Owner within 30 days upon project completion. Provide (1) hard copies to owner and (1) electronic copy in PDF format on a thumb drive. Drawings shall include all cable pathway routes and work area outlets nomenclature. Provide a laminated copy for each closet Work Area Space. Install the laminated copy in each MDF and IDF closets. REFERENCE STANDARDS Adherence to the following published guidelines and standards: A. ANSI/TIA-568-C.0 – Generic Communications Cabling for Customer Premises.
B. ANSI/TIA-568-C.1 – Commercial Building Communications Cabling Standard
C. ANSI/TIA-569-C – Commercial Building Standard for Telecommunications Pathways and Spaces.
D. ANSI/TIA-606-B – Administration Standard for the Commercial Telecommunications Infrastructure.
E. ANSI/JSTD-607-B – Commercial Building Bonding and Grounding (Earthing) Requirements for Telecommunications.
F. NFPA 70 – National Electrical Code (NEC).

GENERAL All products shall be new and brought to the site in the original packaging. Electrical components shall bear all UL labels. Products shall be installed per manufacturer’s instructions.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION: 1. Hastings Area School System is requesting pricing for solutions for low voltage cabling for Hastings High School CTE program.
2. Data Closets: All closets are marked up on the maps provided. 3. Horizontal Distribution Subsystem: Intra-building twisted-pair communications cabling connecting Telecommunication IDF Rooms to Telecommunication Outlets (TOs) located at individual work areas.
5. Communications Horizontal Cabling System: Includes cables, jacks, patch panels, connecting blocks and necessary support systems, such as cable managers and faceplates.
6. Cables: Route through conduit, cable trays, spaces below raised floors, open ceiling areas, non-ventilated spaces above ceiling tile, and through plenum air-handling spaces above ceiling tile.
7. All cables that are terminated above ceiling (Access Point and Camera locations) must be terminated into the appropriate sized surface mount box and have at least 10’ of slack coiled, not exceed bend radius.
8. Furnish and install all materials necessary for a complete and working communications horizontal cabling system.

9. All conduits and surface mount raceway will be provided by the owner in the classroom. Contractor is responsible for providing and installing any conduit necessary from IDF into classroom. 10. Classrooms will need 61 new data drops, and 3 existing network cable that will need to be terminated, test, and label by contractor. All network drops must be clear label. STATION CABLING A. Category 6 Unshielded Twisted Pair: a. 100 ohm, Category 6, 24 AWG, 4-pair unshielded twisted pair, CMR rated. b. Color: Blue. c. Electrical Characteristics: Characterized to 250 MHz. PATHWAYS FOR COMMUNICATION SYSTEM A. Cable Tray System: existing (if less than 50% utilized) or installed by Electrical Contractor
B. Conduit and Back Boxes: Installed by Electrical Contractor ****All Sleeves and wall penetrations shall be installed w/fire stop & bushings by the structured cabling contractor*** C. Cable Support System: Cable saddles or J-Hooks shall be used to route all exposed cables (cable not in conduit or cable tray) in open access environments.
D. Velcro Tie Wraps: Velcro tie wraps shall be bundle cables in pathways and in MDF and IDF closets. NYLON TIE WRAPS (ZIP TIES) ARE NOT PERMITTED for bundling cables either temporarily or permanently. If found during any inspections, cables WILL be required to be removed and new cable re-pulled at contractor’s expense. MODULAR JACKS FOR WORKSTATION OUTLETS A. Category 6 Modular Jacks: B. 8-position modular jack, Category 6, IDC terminals, T568A/B wiring scheme. C. Component-rated jack. D. Each Jack: Identified on its face as CAT 6. E. Color: Blue for Data, Violet for Security Cameras and Card Access devices, Yellow for Wireless AP’s, Green for analog phone. Colors to be verified with owner before ordering. MODULAR PATCH PANELS A.
