Low Ropes Course Bike Maintenance Adventure Programs Program Guide Fall 2013 Outdoor Resource Center The Outdoor Resource Center is the hub of Sonoma State’s Adventure Programs. Located on the first floor of the Recreation Center, the ORC offers a plethora of resources: maps, books, message board, rental gear, and our knowledgable staff. Come on in and say hi! HOURS: Monday-Friday, 3-7pm The Low Ropes Course offers an opportunity for individuals to work together in groups to accomplish common goals and objectives as a team. Through active roles in challenging activi- ties, participants will develop strengthened relationships with each other and explore personal characteristics, limits, and strengths while taking on situations that mirror real world problems and issues. Ropes course activities focus on teamwork, problem solving, communication, trust, creativity, cooperation, confidence, decision making, effective feedback, conflict resolution and self-evaluation. Ropes course programs are great for jump starting team development, ener - gizing classroom participation, and just having a ton of fun while you do it! Bike Maintenance is located at the Outdoor Resource Center in the Campus Recreation Center. We fix many common issues on almost all types of bikes. We also do custom parts and repairs. Bring your bike in to have us check it out! Outdoor Pursuits Trips Climbing WallOutdoor Pursuits Trips are a great way to meet others, challenge yourself, and get to know the world around you. Trip costs cover instruction, group gear, food, and travel. All trips require a pre-trip meeting and are beginner-friendly. Sign up at the Outdoor Resource Center or Front Desk in the Recreaction Center.

Intro to climbing / Belay School – FREE 6pm and 8pm Every Wednesday and Thursday. Learn the basics of roped climbing or refresh your belay skills in this beginner clinic.

8/21 Opening Night! – Check out new routes, get belay/lead test certified, and a great night climbing! There will be prizes too! FREE rentals for all! 8/28 Community Night – Find a partner, make some friends and have fun! 2 for 1 rentals!9/4 Free Night – First Wednesday of each month, 5-10pm. FREE rentals for all! 9/5 Setters Training – 8-10pm. Mandatory training for our staff and volunteers that put up the routes we all enjoy. 9/18 Movement Clinic – FREE 7-9pm Come explore the basics of climbing movement and technique. 9/25 Lead Clinic - FREE 7-9pm This clinic will go over how to lead climb safely as well as give particiants practice and feedback. Prerequisite: belay certified

10/1-10/30 Roctoberfest! The whole month of Rocktober is filled with climbing club trips, skills clinics, an AMGA certification course, and a challenge to see who can cover the most vertical terrain! 10/2 Free Night - 5-10pm. FREE rentals for all!

10/4-6 AMGA Climbing Wall Instructor Course - $300 “The CWI certification program is the premier source for training and credentials for climbing wall instructors.” See http://amga.com/ for course details.10/9 Movement Clinic - FREE 7-9pm Come explore the basics of climbing movement and technique. 10/16 Lead Clinic -- FREE 7-9pm This clinic will go over how to lead climb safely as well as give participants practice and feedback.
