Red fault LED on midd le diskof rx 2600 & rp34x0 Workaround instructions to correct illumination of red

LED on internal disk drive(s) for rp3440, rp3410, andrx2600 servers

The purpose of this document is to show a simple process toeliminate the unwanted red LED condition on the disk drive(s)from coming on during a startup or when the system isoperating normally. This red LED indication on the disk drive isdue to contact between the middle plastic tip of the hard driverail guide and the activity LED.

To repair the contact problem, the center plastic tip must beremoved from the end of the hard drive rail guide. By removingthe plastic tip, current will no longer flow across their surface toenable the LED to illuminate red.

Note: This will not damage the function of the hard drive.
