Piñata Making Workshop (2 day)12+yrsCastlegar Community Complex- Monashee Room | Tanya Valle

My name is Tanya Valle, I grew up part of my life in Montreal and in Ontario where I have obtained my bachelor of Arts and Humanities at the University of Western Ontario and my Early Childhood Education Certificate. My experiences in placements such as in day-cares and elementary schools have helped me to grow as a professional and develop my planning and differentiation skills, enabling me to cater towards children’s individual needs and abilities. Since a young age I watched my mother making traditional piñatas from scratch and since then I’ve always been passionate and excited to make my next challenging piñata. I believe there is no restriction on creativity and to have the chance to promote diversity.

PIÑATA WORKSHOP The piñata workshop consists of 2 days, 3 hours each where you will learn how to craft a traditional paper- maché piñata.

All materials will be provided.

We will work on one design where I will guide step by step how to make a Dino hatching egg piñata.

• On the first day we will work with

a balloon and cardboards putting together the pieces to sculpt our piñata. Then comes the wrapping part with the paper-maché.

• On the second day after choosing the colours for your piñata. I will show you different techniques on how to use tissue paper and how to apply it to decorate your piñata.

“If you change yourself you will change your world”. We cannot control other people actions, but we can control how we react to them. All we can do is work on ourselves and learn to live a life filled with true self worth, acceptance, and deep connections with others.

Come join this six-week series while we dip our toes into the world of personal development and find out what it is all about. Join us as we explore different habits, a variety of resources, and a place to find connection with people who are on a similar path. We will have speakers touch on topics like journaling, mindfulness, meditation and yoga, mind health, and the importance of support and connection.

In each session, we will have the opportunity to learn, practice, share and connect with others. We will learn to find more confidence, better communication skills and to find our personal power. We will find ways to leave the past in the past, to find forgiveness, to learn how to choose our thoughts, and take action to create a better life for ourselves.

We are more alike than we are different and there is so much beauty in that. Come with an open heart and find the power in connection as we learn how to find true self worth and inner glow.
