Emotional Intelligence, Self-Awareness, and Leadership Authenticity

Our effectiveness as leaders depends not only on what we do and how we do it, but also on the inner place from where we operate.

In this initial session, you will explore your own leadership style and practice and begin to identify your leadership capability. By understanding and increasing this self-awareness, you will improve your ability to act authentically and as a result better develop and lead others. We will discuss emotional intelligence and how you can use your own and others’ emotional intelligence as a tool for effective leadership.

Leadership, Authority, and Power: Self and Role

Are you leading anyone? Can you lead anyone?

Many people hold a role of authority yet struggle with the exercise of leadership. Often, authority roles are challenging for women when they are faced with complex power dynamics. Women tend to use their power in the service of others, and are not as comfortable using power over others. This is often a direct conflict with typical business standards. While authority roles provide opportunities for leadership, they do not guarantee that a person is an effective leader. In this session, you will explore your own role of authority what behaviors result in effective leadership.

Personal and Professional Development: Moving On and Moving Up

We often walk for a while down a path, not realizing we are going the wrong the way, not knowing how to reach our destination.

In this final session you will explore the topics of leadership development and personal and professional advancement. We will discuss barriers to career advancement and personal fulfillment and you will begin to develop strategies for creating a vision and accomplishing your own professional development goals.
