Lotus Notes Quick Reference:

These are some additional items we would like to see added to the Lotus Notes

training:

This application can be used to terminate Lotus Notes sessions

KillNotes.exe

1o By running this executable, ALLprocesses and the files that are being

used in the background to run Lotus Notes will be terminated. unning

this executable will eliminate the need of !" reboot.

2o #ow to use:

Lotus Notes places the 7notes.lck file in

the users3 notes8data folder during the

start of the client program 4notes.exe5.$hen a program termination is enforced

this file is not erased, as it is by normal

program closure. &elete this file before

starting the notes client.

The Cache.NDfile contains design

elements 4forms, subforms, and Lotus

0cript libraries5 of databases located on a

Notes ser*er, in addition to cross9replica

ournaling information.

The user.!Dis primarily used for user

identification and authentication 4users3

Lotus Notes file5.

The N"#$%.!N!file contains the

configuration for notes to load and run

successfully.

The Citri&.inifile is a copy of the

N"#$%.!N!. This file allows Lotus

Notes to run when a user launches the

application from "itrix.

The setup.t&tfile contains all of the

configuration settings; so that Lotus

Notes can be configured automatically.

1o To reset a users Lotus Notes password, you will need to replace the

users !Dfile.

3o There are many differences between the capabilities andinterfaces of these two clients.

4o The full client lets you take ad*antage of many Notes functions that are

not a*ailable on the iNotes client, such as databases doc links,

replication, etc.

5o (ncryption will not work with web clients.
