In Spanish, most adjectives have a masculine and feminine form.

Usually ends in -o

Masculine adjectives are used to describe masculine nouns.

El sombrero rojo

Feminine adjectives are used to describe feminine nouns.

The “o’s” with “o’s” and “a’s” with “a’s” theory is NOT 100% true. There are some rules you MUST LEARN!!

Adjectives that end in –e match both genders.

La bufanda verde.

El suéter verde.

Most adjectives that end in a consonant match both genders.

La bufanda azul

When talking about something that is plural, the adjective that describes it must be PLURAL as well.

Las bufandas rosadas

Unos calcetines grises.

Unos sombreros rojos.

To make a word plural:

if it ends with a vowel: add –”s”

if it ends with a consonant: add –”es”
