NEW
SLETTER FAMILY BBQ, & YEAR 6 GRADUATION
On Thursday 15th December at 6.00pm we will be having a wonderful celebration evening for the whole school community. Something for everyone on this evening! We will commence with a BBQ, then onto the Year 6 Graduation ceremony. Cooking will commence at 5.30pm. For catering purposes, please fill out the form on Page 4. Parking for the evening will be on the school oval. Please enter via Elliott’s driveway beside the school. There will be ‘parking’ signs erected for parents to follow. Please do not park in the school carpark. GRADUATION This year we have 11 students graduating from Nilma Primary School being: Charlotte Brown, Ryan Cane, Mitch Chesterfield, Bailey Dent, Teagan George, Mitchell Gilmore, Riley Kleeven, Ella Perry, Kiara Perry, Kiandra Polglaze & Sabrina Thompson. The Year 6 Graduation Dinner will be held on Monday 19th December. Permission forms have been sent home and must be returned by next Tuesday 13th December 2016.
CHRISTMAS RAFFLE Attached to the newsletter last week were Raffle Books . The raffle will be drawn at the end of year BBQ and Year 6 Graduation evening on Thursday 15th December. Tickets will be selling for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The prizes include gift vouchers, accommodation vouchers and hampers. More raffle tickets are available from the office and raffle tickets can also be purchased on the night. We are asking if parents are able to donate a small gift for our Hamper. Donations for the hamper can be made at the office or given to the Homegroup teacher.
END OF YEAR REPORTS Teachers have been working extremely hard to present to you evidence of your child’s learning over the past semester. You will see that the reports have essentially two parts. One part is the benchmarking and teacher based comments, ie, dot points and comments about the way your child has gone about his or her learning. The other part is the evidence of their learning shown through their portfolio. These pieces will contain photos, student comments and teacher comments. These can be accessed through Sentral. We are offering parents the opportunity to come into school next week, either Wednesday afternoon from 2pm or Wednesday night from 7pm-8pm, to use our computers and also the staff support to access your child’s portfolio.

HOMEGROUP HAPPENINGS!
We had a great time getting to know each
other, our buddies and challenging
ourselves on Transition Day. Apart from
helping the new Ruby Reds with a Split-
pin Santa craft activity, we did a lot of
‘Minute to Win It’ challenges.
Physical Science
Students worked in their Science
teams to design and create a moving
object using the engineering kits. All
objects had to include moving parts and
gears that ‘meshed’.
