Cal Ripken Major/70 Aberdeen, Maryland August 8 - 16, 2014

The 2014 Cal Ripken Major/70 World Series will be held in Aberdeen, Maryland from August 6th to the 12th. Along with an incredible facility that will house the tournament, Aberdeen has much to offer for those who plan to visit for the World Series.

If you want to see the pros in action, the Aberdeen Ironbirds are the class A affiliates of the Baltimore Orioles and play right in the same complex that the tournament will be held in. And speaking of the Orioles, if you want to see the big leaguers doing their thing, Baltimore is only a 20 minute train ride from Aberdeen.

If you’re looking for something other than base-ball, Aberdeen has something for you too. With plenty of beautiful parks all over Harford county, you can get your fix of outdoor adventure. Or if you’re looking to get out of the sun for a while, you can visit one of the great historic sites in the area like the Bahoukas Antique Mall and Beer MuZeum. That’s right, a beer museum. Pencil it into your itinerary dads.

Of course, there are plenty of great places to stay and fantastic places to grab a bite to eat. From southwestern grille and Italian cuisine to a sports bar and a cupcake bakery, you can find anything you’re looking for.

And what about that incredible facility? The Rip-ken Experience complex features four replica stadiums including Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, Wrigley Field and of course the hometown favorite.

“The Ripken Experience Complex we have is unbelievable,” said Lauren Morris, Host President for the event. “All of the teams get to play on Cal Sr’s Yard, which is a mini replica of Camden Yards.”

Babe Ruth Baseball 13-Year-Old Glen Allen, Virginia August 16 - 22, 2014

Glen Allen, Virginia is the host city for the Babe Ruth Baseball 13-year-old World Series from August 16 to 22. If you’re looking forward to seeing some great baseball and want to make a fun trip for the whole family, Glen Allen is the place for you.

Adults can enjoy the James River Cellars Winery if you’re looking for some relaxing fun. Gardeners won’t want to miss a visit to the Lavender Fields Herb Farm for some beauti-ful scenery. Or, you can visit the Cultural Arts Center at Glenn Allen to take in some of the local culture.

Of course, if you’re looking for something a bit more active, there are plenty of golf courses and other grounds for outdoor sports in the area. Guests can take a nature hike or visit the aquarium at the nearby Three Lakes Park.

Kids will enjoy a visit to Arena Racing USA where they will get to see some fast cars speeding down the track. For the little ones, there’s always the Children’s Museum of Richmond, which, despite the name, is in fact in Glen Allen.

However, if you are looking to visit Richmond for some more great attractions, it is only a 20 minute drive away from Glen Allen. And if guests are willing to take the trip, Washington D.C. is just a two hour trip.

Glen Allen will not only host some great base-ball, but will also be a family-friendly trip for all of those who decide to come to check out the 13-year-old World Series.

From August 15 to 22, the Babe Ruth Baseball 14-year-old World Series will be held in the town of Ocala, Florida. Fans of great baseball can easily turn this trip into a great family vaca-tion. Ocala is located in central Florida, one of the top vacation spots in country,

With just about an hour-and-15-minute drive, visitors of Ocala can be in Orlando, home of some of the greatest family-friendly theme parks in the world, including Walt Disney World. If that’s not your thing and you would rather spend your time relaxing, Daytona Beach is only an hour and a half away. And there are tons of other desirable locations within driving distance including Tampa, which is also only an hour and a half away.

Of course, if you’re looking to stay local, there is still plenty to do in Ocala. If you’re looking to get out of the Florida heat, you can visit one of the great and unique museums that Ocala has to offer like the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing or the Appleton Museum of Art.

There are also plenty of outdoor attractions for those looking to be a bit more active. The Ocala Petting Zoo is a great place for the little ones, while adults can enjoy one of the many local golf courses. There are also plenty of beautiful parks where you can ride a bike, take a hike, or simple take in the beautiful scenery.

There is no question that Ocala has something for everybody … and the the Babe Ruth Base-ball 14-year-old World Series will be a great trip for the whole family.

Babe Ruth Baseball 13-15 Longview, Washington August 20 - 27, 2014

Longview, Washington will be the location of the Babe Ruth Baseball 13-15 year-old World Series from August 20 to 27. If you’re looking for a great trip to a nice small town to see some fantastic baseball and maybe some other fun attractions, this is the place for you.

There are plenty of different types of attraction for guests of this small town event. Feeling ad-venturous? You can head over to the Ape Cave Lava Tubes for a great hike. Or if you want to see a more well-know outdoor attraction, Mount St. Helens is only an hour and 20 minute drive away.

If you’re not feeling an outdoor excursion, Longview has a small local bowling alley that’s great for family fun. Or if you’re willing to take a trip, Portland, Oregon is just an hour away and Seattle, Washington is just two hours.

The Rutherglen Mansion provides a great place to eat if you’re looking for something a little fancy. Or if you’re looking for something much simpler, the Silver Star Sports Bar and Grill is one of many local restaurants that will provide family favorites.

Kirc Roland, Host President of the Babe Ruth Baseball 13-15 year-old World Series, finds that everyone in Longview comes together to give these tournaments a really special atmosphere.

“The business people support it, the city coun-cils support it, the college supports it and the fans come out,” Roland said. “In our town, for two weeks this is it man, this is big time.”
