(Submitted photo) By Shawn Hogendorf Staff Writer The four-way formation skydiving team, Fast Forward, finished seventh out of 34 teams in the 2006 U.S. Skydiving Nationals Championships held Oct. 21-28 in Eloy, Ariz. Prior Lake High School alumni Kevin Burkart and Rich Barr are two of the five members of the team. Fast Forward finished 20 points out of first place in their first national championship appearance. The team was in third for the first few rounds and fourth place through the first six rounds of competition. “In the first few rounds I think we were making some of the teams that medaled nervous,” Burkart said. Fast Forward engineered round seven wrong, and fell to ninth place, Burkhart said. But the team recovered in the eighth through the 10th rounds to finish seventh overall. Fast Forward made 10 jumps over two days. The first seven jumps were on Sunday. The last three jumps were made on Monday. “It’s not a bad showing for our first time at nationals. It was a fun time and a smoothly run competition,” Burkart said. “We just engineered round seven wrong; [we] would love to have it back again.
