In 1889, the constituion was drafted for the association known as the DOMINION SWINE BREEDERS ASSOCIATION.

In 1892, the Record Book for Swine. There were five breeds admittedBerkshire, Yorkshire, Chester, Poland, and Suffolk . Tams came in 1893 and Duroc in 1895.

In 1916, a new constitution and in 1917, Canadian Swine Breeders Association. Directors were appointed from every province.

In 1933, identification was instituted. Tattooing was made compulsory for white breeds; all breeds to bear identification tags.
