EL BANQUETE CELESTIAL

¿No estoy yo aquí? ¿No soy tu Madre?

¿No estás bajo mi sombra?

CALVARY CEMETERY NEWS Annual Visitation Sunday Mass

with the Bishop

You are cordially invited to attend Calvary Cemetery’s Mass with The Most Reverend John Stowe, OFM Conv., Bishop of Lexington, at the Via Dolorosa Mausoleum, 874 West Main Street, on Sunday, November 5, at 3:00 P.M.

Calvary is the cemetery of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lexington. This date is also National Catholic Cemetery Sunday. This Mass & Spiritual Work of Mercy commemorates all of our loved ones who have died, whether this past year, or longer ago, and they do not have to be buried at Calvary.

This wonderful, peace-filled Liturgy conveniently falls during November 1st through the 8th to help meet the Plenary Indulgence dates. All are welcome!

Is God calling you to the priesthood or religious Life? Do you know someone who you think might be called?

“It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you.”

There is a new book getting a lot of attention called” iGEN” by Jean M. Twenge, a Professor of Psychology at San Diego State University. The cover states: “Why Today’s Super-Connected Kids Are Growing Up Less Rebellious, More Tolerant, Less Happy and Completely Unprepared For Adulthood”. iGEN is identified as folks born between 1995 and 2012.

Just when we were hoping and praying that the next group after the Millennials would be more interested in their faith building. This book shoots this down. I have to admit I have just heard about the book, have ordered it to read it in its entirety.

Some quick points: Less connected to the family. Losing religion and spirituality. Less hanging out. Extending adolescence.

The study shows that children, besides being “connected” with their iPhone, are being raised in non-religious households, it is about their personal choices and individualism, and have a negative view of Christianity.

More on this as research comes forward. For now, we need to be aware and work on plans to deal with it.
