the steps outside new York’s Metropolitan Museum of art have seen some impressive frocks thanks to the Met Gala ball. But this year, rihanna trumped them all with an embroidered cape coat featuring a train that needed no less than four men to hold up the hem. designed by Guo pei, it fitted the ball’s china: through the looking Glass theme perfectly, and took a whopping two years to finish. Katie’s got a smile back on her face, thanks to a certain Mr Foxx

Page 16: Look 18 May 2015

k eatiÔIÕve Turned My Life Around For JamieÕ

She looks better – and happier – than ever. Now her friends have revealed Katie Holmes’ transformation is all down to one man…

We almost didn’t recognise Katie Holmes at last week’s Met Gala in New York. With a blunt bob

(later confirmed as a wig), glowing skin and her head held high – not to mention a stunning custom-made Zac Posen gown – the actress looked happier than ever after a tough time that’s included a bitter divorce battle, a stalled acting career and her fashion line Holmes & Lang ending.

So how has she turned things around? According to our sources, it’s all down to one guy: Jamie Foxx.

Yep, that’s right, Katie, 36, is still extremely close to the American actor and singer, despite attempts to keep the relationship under the

radar and brush it off with denials. And it’s a big deal – not only is he

considered to be one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors, but he’s good mates with her ex, Tom Cruise.

‘Jamie is strong, funny, clever and completely in lust with Katie,’ a friend of the oh-so-secretive pair tells us. ‘He totally makes her feel like a real and desirable woman – something that I think was missing in her marriage. Some claim they are just good friends, but Jamie’s been friends with Tom for 19 years and I imagine neither he or Katie would want to anger him by going public.’

After all, when Katie began dating Tom back in 2005, the three of them became close friends and would often hang out as a trio, going to football matches together and supporting each other at premieres. So it’s not

surprising that Jamie has recently issued further denials about their relationship, saying: ‘She’s just a good friend of mine. I’m not the person who wants to be defined by anybody I date. So, even if I was dating someone, no one would know. But it affects my situation because I got a girl.’

But insiders say his words could all be part of his plan to keep things with the Mania Days actress on the down-low. ‘Jamie’s always been reluctant to go public with romances because the hype could ruin them,’ a source close to the actor tells Look. ‘But in this case, of course, there’s the Tom factor too.’

Not that Katie seems to mind keeping things out of the spotlight – it just means fewer nights out and lots of nights in. ‘Katie and Jamie normally see each other two or three times a week now she’s

moved to LA,’ a source tells us. ‘They usually spend time at each other’s houses, have private dinners and fun nights in. Every now and then, they’ll venture out, but only in disguise.’

Jamie’s car is often seen pulling into Katie’s new £2.5m six-bedroom LA mansion, which is just half an hour away from the 40-acre Santa Monica base he shares with daughters Corinne, 21, and five-year-old Annalise, both from former relationships.

The couple were first spotted cosying up at a Hamptons benefit gala in July 2013, a year after her initial split with Tom, when Katie was reportedly struggling with the attention following her separation. Jamie was caught with his hand on Katie’s bum and looking at her reassuringly. At the time, Jamie brushed off the rumours, telling reporters it was ‘hilarious’ and ‘one hundred per cent not true’.

However, behind the scenes, insiders maintain Jamie and Katie have been very much a couple ever since; slipping out of restaurants separately and making sure they’re not caught on the red carpet together.

According to pals, she attended his huge 2014 New Year’s Eve party in Miami (with stars including Ryan Phillippe and Jeremy Piven) and stayed at his for the Super Bowl weekend last year. But apparent confirmation came when the pair were pictured holding

hands in a studio back in February while working on an as-yet-untitled animation project. And just a few weeks later, Katie was spotted wearing his tracksuit bottoms!

And we can reveal that, despite citing her career as the reason for Katie’s huge move from New York to the west coast, her growing feelings for Jamie were a big consideration.

‘There’s no doubt that Jamie has given her a new confidence in life,’ our source says. ‘Katie’s gone through a hell of a lot and it’s just fantastic for everyone to see her bloom the way she’s done this year. Jamie’s been there for her through thick and thin. I think that kind of support is exactly what she needed.’

‘Everyone knows Katie was burnt big-time by her relationship with Tom,’ an insider explains. ‘But Jamie isn’t just helping her to move on from that – he’s giving her the boost to take her career to new heights, too.’

Yep, after many years out of the acting spotlight, Katie’s phone is suddenly ringing off the hook as directors fight to sign her up. ‘She’s got some extremely impressive people knocking on her door for work, including Brad Pitt,’ another Hollywood insider reveals. ‘This year has been her best so far and scripts are arriving every day. She really wants to focus on her work, and moving

to the west coast put her right in the hot seat for opportunities.’

Those opportunities include her directorial debut and starring role in All We Had, written by Josh Boone – the guy responsible for last year’s hit film The Fault In Our Stars.

‘It’s incredible to think that Katie’s now got the confidence to direct her own movie,’ a source says. ‘There was a shaky time a few years ago when no one thought she’d ever get back to her old bubbly self. It’s taken a lot of hard work and a lot of patience. She’s never used Jamie’s contacts for help, but his enduring support is really beginning to pay off.

‘She’s in a great place right now. It’s been a long, hard road since divorcing Tom, but she’s finally on the other side of it. And Jamie is right there with her.’

The pair were pictured holding hands in February

The Met Gala was a tale of two trends as some celebs embraced the Chinese theme and the rest went for all-out shock factor

Ah, the Met Ball – the highlight of our fashion calendar (yep, it even tops the Oscars). The annual soirée is a chance

for fashion’s finest to bring their wardrobe A-game, and boy did they do just that this year. China: Through The Looking Glass was the theme (previous years have seen punk and superheroes) for the £16,500 a ticket 2015 bash, co-hosted by Anna Wintour and Jennifer Lawrence. And, while there’s no doubt many stars made a serious effort to nail the oriental vibe, some attendees went a little, erm, off-piste, shall we say?

Leading the pack of ladies embracing far-east chic – and keeping Anna Wintour happy – was Sarah Jessica Parker. A Met regular, SJP is no stranger to causing style shockwaves with her bold looks. Gliding up the red carpet in a one-shouldered black and red dress that she designed with H&M, she sent cyberspace into its second meltdown of the night (once the Rihanna outfit frenzy had died down) with her sculptural Philip Treacy headpiece. Cue another wave of LOL-inducing memes taking over our Twitter feeds. We, however, thought she looked fierce with a capital F.

Brit girls Georgia May Jagger and Alexa Chung also got the memo, showcasing oriental florals, rich silks and luxe embroidery. Georgia gave us summer wardrobe inspo in a kimono frock created by new Gucci designer

So, to the rule breakers. It seems Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian and J-Lo all set their own dress code, which we’re calling ‘Who Can Flash The Most Flesh?’ Yep, less was definitely more when it came to this trio’s ensembles, with Beyoncé taking the crown in a nude chiffon Givenchy Haute Couture creation scattered with strategically placed crystals. Arriving late to ensure maximum red carpet exposure (not that she needed any help on that front), Bey sent the paps into overdrive, posing from every angle.

Kim and Jennifer went for similarly sheer showstoppers –

Kim in a Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli dress inspired by one of Cher’s iconic looks (yes, really), and Jen in dragon-adorned scarlet Versace, accessorised with one very large rock on her ring finger. Do we have a fourth wedding to look forward to, Jen?

The Met Gala is a chance for A-listers to don their more avant-garde pieces from the hottest designers, and Bey and co’s risqué dresses certainly divided opinions, sparking huge debate on Twitter. While some tweets claimed they were ‘revealing too much’, others hit back that it’s ‘OK to be sexy and wear things that make you feel good’. There’s no denying that they caused a sensation.

It wasn’t just on the red carpet where rules were being broken. Despite Anna Wintour declaring a social media ban at the event and assigning Mario Testino to take all official pics, the A-listers weren’t giving up the selfies that easily. In fact, from Kim and Kendall Jenner to Rihanna and Madonna, we don’t think we’ve ever seen so many amazing celebrity snaps. The best girls’ night out ever? We’d say so.

Plus, Inside Her WardrobePrince George melts our hearts in his little shorts and cardies, and it’s a guarantee that Charlotte will be a trendsetting tot rocking all the traditional designs Kate loves, too…

As a general rule, when we’re asked to imagine a woman who gave birth to an 8lb 3oz baby nine hours earlier, we picture them wearing pyjamas

and maybe a dressing gown. But when the Duchess of Cambridge stepped out onto the steps of St Mary’s Lindo Wing in London, she wasn’t just wearing a white and yellow Jenny Packham shift dress – she was also sporting three-inch nude Jimmy Choo heels with perfectly blow-dried hair. And while Twitter went into meltdown about how amazing she looked (with her dress promptly selling out online later that day), it was her newborn daughter – Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana – and two-year-old son, George, who really shook up the style stakes.

Yep, tucked up tight in an ivory shawl from royal family favourite GH Hurt, fellow knitwear brands across the country noted a surge in sales minutes after the princess made her public debut. And that’s nothing in comparison to George’s trip to meet his sister for the first time. Kitted out in Amaia Kids’ knee-high socks and a matching cardie,

he melted the crowd’s hearts and drove them to their computers to snap up an identikit ensemble.

‘Everybody knows Kate drives the fashion market,’ says Helen Canning, 30, founder of Cocomamastyle.com. ‘But not everyone realises the impact her children are making, too. Kate’s choosing traditional clothes for George, and she’s bound to do the same for Charlotte. The hope now is that the high street takes the hint and provides more options. I think George and especially Charlotte will become the youngest trendsetters around.’

And with boutique designers such as Rachel Riley (whose £79 smocked dungarees sold out in minutes after they were seen on George), Early Day, Neck & Neck, and Corgi tripping over themselves to dress the pair, it’s not surprising that one retail expert has claimed the princess could be worth around £150 million to the British economy due to her influence over the fashion and beauty industry.

‘Kate is delighted that George’s wardrobe has already caused such a stir, and I imagine she can’t wait for Charlotte to have the same impact,’ says our source. ‘Of course, she wants to keep her children out of the limelight as much as possible, but she’s well aware that to a certain extent, that’s just not an option. And if their outfits can help other parents – not to mention the fashion industry – then that’s a huge bonus.’ Sounds good to us. Now, where can we get some knee-high socks?

The Duchess is often spotted in King’s Road children's store Trotters, probably due to its super-cute range of shoes and nautical rompers fit for a royal baby.

As previously modelled by several members of the royal family, ruby-red Mary-Janes are a trusted classic. This pair has a super-cute cutout detail.

It makes sense that Princess Charlotte should follow in the footsteps of her grandfather Prince Charles and be the proud owner of her very first kilt in honour of her Celtic heritage.

What’s New

When George wore a wool tank top from Cath Kidston, it went flying off the shelves. These knitted booties are the perfect option for newborn feet, and are a steal at £20, too.

For her baby basics, the Duchess of Cambridge is said to head to Gap’s baby department. For spring, the brand is stocking some adorable floral one-pieces with a vintage vibe to make even the Queen proud.

Every baby needs a bonnet, and this

What’s New

Hannah* picks up a pen. ‘I was raped,’ she writes. ‘It’s taken me six months to admit those words.’ As she describes her violent

attack in vivid detail, she keeps one woman in mind: Ione Wells. For it is Ione’s courage in waiving her right to anonymity and writing a letter to her own attacker that inspired Hannah to tell her story. She hopes it will help others, in the way Ione helped her.

And she isn’t alone. Since Ione, 20, wrote her powerful piece for Cherwell, Oxford University’s student newspaper, two weeks ago, many more have come forward wanting to share their experiences of sexual assault and harassment.

It’s all part of #NotGuilty, a campaign launched by Ione’s letter that aims to send the message that assault is never the victim’s fault.

‘My case proved a one-off incident could happen to anyone, anywhere – I walk that road all the time,’ Ione says of her attack, which occurred on her street in Camden, north London after a night out with friends. ‘There’s nothing a victim has done wrong… We must do everything we can to make sure people don’t feel they have to live differently.’

Since her letter was published, #NotGuilty has been trending worldwide with thousands showing their support. It’s also inspired others to come forward: Cherwell is now publishing letters from other students, with the choice to use a pseudonym, like Hannah did, or identify themselves.

‘Being able to write it on paper has been the first step for getting proper help for some people,’ says Ione. ‘I hoped that this letter would not just be for me but for everyone to feel like someone is standing up for them.’

A week after her letter was first published, Ione’s attacker, a 17-year-old man pleaded guilty to the assault and was sentenced to two years’ detention.

‘When I first heard about the court hearing, I thought that going would be the only way I could feel I had some control,’ says Ione. ‘But actually this campaign has already given that to me and given me an incredible sense of justice.’

I cannot address this letter to you, because I do not know your name. And I have one question.

When you were caught on CCTV following me, when you waited until I was on my own street to approach me, when you clapped your hand around my face until I could not breathe, when I wrestled with your hand just enough so that I could scream.

When you dragged me by my hair, smashed my head against the pavement and told me to stop screaming, when my neighbour saw you and shouted at you and you looked her in the eye and carried on kicking me.

When you tore my bra in half from sheer force, when you didn’t reach for my belongings because you wanted my body… did you ever think of the people in your life?

You violated the truth that I will never cease to fight for, that there are infinitely more good people in the world than bad.

This is not really for you, but for all victims of attempted or perpetrated serious sexual assault and everyone in their communities.

My community will continue to come together, like an army, when any member of our community is threatened, and this is a fight you will not win. You have not proved any weakness in me, or my actions, but only demonstrated the solidarity of humanity.

The LBD of the accessory world, no stylista’s jewellery box is complete without a statement necklace. But this summer,

it’s all about switching up the usual bejewelled styles for a glossy gold chain. Think ghetto fabulous with a grown-up twist in the form of chic links that sit on the collarbone.

The best thing about this bling buy is that it works round the clock – add one to a slogan tee, leather trousers and kicks combo by day, and try with a bandeau dress or jumpsuit by night. The only rule is to avoid teaming it with anything too girly – this neck candy is all about the fierce factor.

Marriage is for life, right? First comes the big diamond ring, followed by the even bigger white wedding

and then, you know, happily ever after… Except, it’s not really working out like that. With divorce rates rising and more couples co-habiting than ever before, it appears that marriage is in serious danger of losing its place in society.

Let’s look at the facts. Statistically, if you’re attending three or more weddings this summer, it’s (sadly) likely that at least one of those will end in divorce. And it seems this knowledge is stopping many of us heading down the aisle – marriage in Britain is at an all-time low with a drop of 34 per cent since 1981.

But it’s not all doom and gloom – it is still possible to make a marriage last. We just need to do it on our own terms. In controversial new book, The New I Do: Reshaping Marriage For Skeptics, Realists And Rebels, therapist Susan Pease Gadoua and journalist Vicki Larson argue that instead of ‘till death us do part’, we should simply vow ‘for the time being’. It may not sound very romantic, but the two experts believe it could end up being the very thing that saves your relationship in the long term.

The book suggests that couples sign a ‘wedlease’ – a fixed-term

‘ Igot married for the first time when i was 25, at an age my parents felt was far too young and to a man who they thought wasn’t 100

per cent right. but i was truly, madly, deeply in love – and naive. despite the fact we argued constantly in the run-up to our big day and had fundamentally different opinions on important things, i thought love was all we needed. we wanted to be grown-ups and have a house, dinner parties and security.

of course, something in me knew it wasn’t right, and i remember walking down the aisle thinking: “this doesn’t have to be forever.” and it wasn’t. by the time i hit 30, i was just another statistic in the growing trend of young divorcees, dumped back onto the singles market and dealing with overwhelming emotions of failure and rejection.

my starter marriage ended at the age when everyone else i knew was getting engaged or married. i spent that first year as a divorcee listening to vows i didn’t keep and feeling like a bad omen at

hen parties. i wanted the divorce – i wasn’t happy. but i still felt like a loser and was full of doubt.

you’d think remarrying would be the end of it, but it just feeds the need for more explanation. when i met my second husband at 33 and married him a year later, i felt the need to prove to him and his family that i wasn’t a flake – that i was in this for the long haul. i was worried they thought i was flippant about commitment, so i talked openly about my past and thankfully they accepted me with open arms.

the biggest lesson i’ve learnt from my first marriage is to talk more. i used to store up niggles, upsets and resentment, scared to make a scene or have a confrontation. that led to five years of pent-up frustration and sadness that was unhealthy. now, in my forever marriage, i talk things through and listen more. i don’t regret my “starter” marriage, as it brought me to the strong relationship i am in today. but i do wish i’d thought more about other options before taking such a huge set of vows.’

‘What I Learnt From My “I Do For Now”’Sarah Ivens, 39, always knew that her marriage would be for the short term

starter marriage agreement, where both parties agree to a renewable contract that’s revised every few years. ‘It enables couples to “try on” the institution to see if it fits – without bringing children into the mix – before making a lifelong commitment,’ says Susan.

She argues that by signing a contract and making a formal agreement with your partner, you could benefit from more legal rights than just co-habiting, but without committing to spending your entire life together.

‘I got married far too young at 21,’ says Anna Smith*, now 36. ‘I’d been with my partner for six years, but we only stayed married for 15 months. I see now that we were kids playing at being adults, and it was the pressure of the small town I grew up in that led to us making such a huge commitment without thinking it through. If I’d signed a “wedlease”, perhaps things would have been different, and we could have reassessed our relationship as life began to change. Instead, when the time came for us to move to London and discover a whole new world, we couldn’t cope.’

‘Although marriage rates are at a low, I’m seeing more women in their twneties getting married than I have in a long time,’ says body image and relationship expert Judi James. ‘For many, I think it’s a status symbol to

prove how grown up you are. They want the big day, and put little thought into what the actual marriage is going to be like. Yes, you can live together beforehand, but nothing prepares you for what being a wife is like – it’s a huge change.

‘If people aren’t ready, marriage can cause serious damage to a relationship,’ she adds. ‘I’d definitely recommend testing the waters first, so a “wedlease” is a good idea. But regardless, it’s wise to take out your own precautions to protect any assets you have.’

And with almost half of all divorces occurring in the first ten years of marriage, a ‘wedlease’ could soon

become a very real part of our relationships – as long as we learn from ones we don’t want to renew.

‘The most important thing you can do after your commitment comes to an end is to look at yourself to see what went wrong,’ adds Judi. ‘It’s easy to blame the other person, but it’s rarely just one person’s fault. Learn why you’re breaking up and take that on board; it’s the only way to ensure a successful marriage the next time around.’

Falling for each other is the easy part…

For many, marriage is a status symbol to prove how grown up you are

RebelWilsonInterview

e’ve wanted to be best friends with Australian actress Rebel Wilson ever since we first saw her play Matt Lucas’s kooky sister in our go-to hangover film, Bridesmaids. And we’re not the only ones

– Rebel’s brand of uninhibited, fearless comedy (where no subjects are off the table) has made her a global sensation. It’s no surprise then, that she was hand-picked for 2012’s Pitch Perfect. The film was hailed a trailblazer for its female-lead cast and laugh-until-you-cry comedy, but it was Rebel (playing Fat Amy) who really stole the show with her sarcastic one-liners and inexhaustible sex drive. ‘I’m all about the attitude and confidence,’ says the 29-year-old when asked about her outspoken character. ‘I just like being who I am. And no pressure could ever change that.’

Now, after a stint presenting one of the funniest MTV Movie Awards we’ve ever seen, Rebel has returned to the silver screen with sequel Pitch Perfect 2. After choking with laughter in the cinema (just wait until you see that opening sequence), we couldn’t wait to chat to the woman who’s fighting stereotypes with comedy, and changing the face of what it means to be a Hollywood actress.Hi, Rebel! First things first, tell us about your unusual name…My parents decided to call me Rebel after a little

girl named Rebel sang at their wedding. My mum is really big on theme names – my sisters are called Liberty and Annachi, and my brother is named Ryot. I think I actually did pretty well by comparison [laughs].Does it inspire you to be extra rebellious? You can’t be a shrinking, timid little violet if you have a name like Rebel, can you? It gives me an edge, something to rise up to. It reminds me not to give in to my fears. I try to live that way. You’ve had an incredible Hollywood career in such a short space of time. How do you feel about your success so far?I’m so busy it’s ridiculous! But it’s very satisfying. I’m grateful and thrilled to be getting all these opportunities. Look at all these breakout female comedies that people are really responding to!

‘No One Should Be Ashamed Of How They Look’

We talk to Rebel Wilson ahead of Pitch Perfect 2 about bravery, body confidence and, of course, The Barden Bellas

WW

Rebel is reunited with The Barden Bellas in Pitch Perfect 2

Page 43: Look 18 May 2015

You’ve spoken out about wanting to empower women with your roles. What did you mean by that? There’s a lot of pressure on women, especially younger women, to conform to be thin. Not everyone can be that way and no one should be ashamed of how they look. No one should be bullied because of their size and shape. If women can see me in interesting roles being brave and bold and having fun, then that can help with their self-image and self-respect.Are you happy to be that role model?I take my responsibility very seriously and want to do everything I can to present a positive image for women. How excited were you about getting back to your role of Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect 2?I couldn’t wait to play her again. Fat Amy means so much to me and the character’s given me so much recognition. I’m very proud of her because she’s the kind of person who just goes for it in life. What made you take the role?I pick up the roles other actresses don’t want. When there are movies

with two sisters and one’s the uglier one, no actress wants to go for it. I’m like, why not? [Laughs] They’re the best roles!Have you ever been part of a choir or done any singing in the past?I was actually part of an a capella group! It was called ‘Twelve Boys’ because there were 12 girls in it. I was like: ‘Yeah! How original!’ I went to a Christian school, so we’d sing church songs at people’s weddings and funerals. But we had to wear these peasant blouses and disgusting long velvet skirts.Do you hang out with the other members of the Pitch Perfect cast? We’re like a big gang. We’ve stayed in touch since the first film and it was incredibly fun to get back together for some serious partying. Elizabeth Banks is our party leader. You starred in the (now legendary) Bridesmaids. What was that like?It was my first job in America. For the audition I went to meet [producer] Judd Apatow with Kristen Wiig and he said: ‘Tell us about your love life. Go!’ I kept talking for an hour while they filmed. I originally went for Melissa McCarthy’s role, but [they said] I was

RebelWilsonInterview

a bit too young for that, so they made up a new character because they liked my audition. And then the movie came out and it was like ‘Bang!’. Bridesmaids showed that women can be hilarious. Why do you think everyone loves you and your characters so much?I think it’s because I have a lot of energy and don’t take things too seriously. I used to be very shy as a child. I still remember when my drama teacher asked my name, and I told her in an American accent. It was at that moment I discovered how easy it was to speak up, provided I had a character to play. Now, my life is about speaking up, being proud of who I am, and just seeing how far that takes me.■ Pitch Perfect 2 hits cinemas nationwide on Friday 15 May

Take it up a notch by priming lids with a white eyeliner first.

Colour in your lid from the lash line up to your crease, then

Credit Card = Foolproof Eyeliner

Struggling to perfect that cat-eye shape? Hold a credit card from the

outer corner of your eye to the edge of your brow and use it as a guide to draw a flawless flick.

Conceal Bags With Red LippieBanishing eye bags is so much easier with red lipstick – yes, really! Think of it like a colour corrector, as the orangey-red hue counteracts purpley-blue shadows. Blend a little lippie over the bags, apply concealer on top, and you can say goodbye to panda eyes.

Fake A Plump PoutWant a luscious Kylie Jenner lip look? Simply add a drop of peppermint oil to any of your old glosses. It gives a tingle, causing your pout to swell as if you’d used a pricey plumper.

Unruly Eyebrow TamerFix stray brows in seconds by misting an old toothbrush with some hairspray and brushing it through – et voilà! Perfectly groomed arches.

Dry-Nose RepairerIf you’re feeling under the weather and your poor nose is suffering, rub a little lip balm on the chapped areas. It’ll soothe sore skin and give an intense shot of moisture – and it stops make-up clinging to dry patches.

Get A Thicker, Longer Ponytail

Amp up your everyday ponytail by cheating extra

thickness and length. Section off the lower half of your hair and tie it just above the nape of your neck. Then fix the top

section into a higher pony and you’ll instantly have

twice as much length and volume. Plus, the hair from

the top half will hide the lower one, so no one will

know your secret.

Toothbrush Texturiser

Take your braid from boring to boho in seconds – just use an old toothbrush

to tease the hair out and add extra thickness instantly. The small bristles

are perfect for getting in between hairs and fluffing them out.

Hello, Glossy Locks!Rinse hair with apple cider vinegar

before washing – it’ll remove any product build-up from the

roots and lengths, and leave tresses with a halo-worthy shine.

Stay-Put PerfumeKeep your signature scent locked down by rubbing Vaseline Lip Therapy, £2.18, over your pulse points before spraying. The fragrance will cling to the balm, as opposed to sinking into the skin or evaporating, so you’ll smell ‘just spritzed’ all day long.

1SmashboxStep-By-Step Contour Kit

HHHHHLook’s Sam: I’m obsessed with this palette. Each of the three powders has a cool undertone, so no matter how much I apply, it still looks like a natural shadow, as opposed to bronzer overload. Ellie: This is my new make-up must-have. It comes with a brush that’s slim enough to reach all the contours of my face, so I can cheat extra definition.

2 B. Make-upSculpted Contour Kit in Medium

HHHLook’s Sam: There’s only one sculpting powder in this, so it’s not ideal for darker skin tones. I loved the creamy highlighter, though – I patted it over the high points of my face to wake up my skin and give a dewy glow.Ellie: It’s small enough to pop in my clutch bag on a night out, but the lack of shades was limiting for my skin tone.

4Anastasia Beverly HillsContour Kit

HHHHLook’s Sam: There’s a whopping six sculpting and highlighting powders in both matte and satin finishes here, which meant I could tailor my look, whether I wanted just a subtle shadow or Kardashian-worthy definition. Ellie: It’s a little pricey, but each powder was easy to blend, and the greyish undertones looked very natural on my skin.

5Laura Mercier Flawless Contouring Palette

HHHHLook’s Sam: At first glance, these contouring creams seemed very dark, but after a bit of blending, they gave me killer cheekbones. The cream formula made it easy to be precise with application, perfect for slimming my nose.Ellie: I wasn’t sure where to start, but the palette comes with tips and diagrams, so even contouring first-timers will be in the know.

Sculpt And Shadowl Go two or three shades darker than your natural skin tone and opt for grey undertones, rather than orange or red colours that will stand out on your skin.l Using the darkest shade in your kit, contour down the sides of your nose and create a small ‘V’ shape on the tip to make it appear smaller, straighter and shorter. l Dust the highlighter along cheekbones, down the centre of your nose, and on your forehead and chin. l Use a well-lit mirror so you can make sure there aren’t any obvious streaks.

Get perfectly chiselled cheeks with a supermodel-worthy sculpting palette

3Barry MFlawless Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit

HHHLook’s Sam: The ultra-pigmented powder was great for such an affordable buy – one stroke stayed flawless all day. But the medium-brown shade had a reddish tint that jarred with my complexion.Ellie: There’s a highlighter and two sculpting powders, so it was easy to define my cheeks. I wasn’t keen on the cardboard packaging or the lack of mirror, though.

How To Enhance Your Smile Even More Apply concealer around your lips with a fine-tip brush to make your smile

pop and prevent your lipstick from ‘bleeding’.

Take your lip liner slightly over the natural edges of your lips for a fool-proof full pout.

Highlight your lips by dabbing a touch of shimmery gloss on the centre of them.

Avoid matte colours and instead opt for cool red shades to make teeth look more white.

Move Over, Juicing – Why Everyone’s Going Mad For Souping

These days, the fashion pack is getting its green stuff in bowls, not bottles

Used to an Instagram feed full of celebrities cuddling up to their green juices? Well, as stars and health gurus

embrace souping, the latest diet trend in the States, it looks like you’ll soon find yourself scrolling through endless posts of their best tableware instead.

From Hollywood health fanatics Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth

Paltrow, to health gurus of the moment Jasmine and Melissa Hemsley, it looks like everyone who’s anyone is eating green soup for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Like the traditional juice cleanse, souping is thought to ease the load on your body’s digestive system and allow it to recalibrate to maximum efficiency – but it feels much more like a satisfying meal.

According to Rhiannon Lambert, Harley Street nutritionist and founder of Rhitrition, choosing soup instead

of blending cabbage with hot water for morning, noon and night. These soups are packed with antioxidants and include different ingredients for different times of the day to keep your body working to its maximum potential. In terms of nutrition, soup is the perfect meal because it’s relatively easy to balance healthy fats, protein and vegetables.’

Of course, as with juicing, some experts still argue that a strict liquid-only cleanse actually does more long-term harm than good. ‘Our bodies are designed to cleanse themselves naturally, so if you’re already eating a relatively clean diet there’s no need to embark on a cleanse or detox, soup-based or otherwise,’ says Rhiannon. ‘But regularly swapping one of your meals for a soup packed with vegetables can be a really effective way to boost your energy levels, improve digestion and help maintain a healthy weight.’

Your ‘Souper’ PlanBreakfast: Blend avocado, lime, coconut milk, hemp protein and coconut water to create a healthy gazpacho. don’t forget that your first meal of the day should contain complex carbs, protein and at least one fruit or vegetable for antioxidants. Lunch: Boil some brown rice, add chicken, onion, peas, broccoli, garlic, and blend.Dinner: Boil and blend beetroot, cashew nuts, chickpeas, onion, spinach and aubergine. always focus on healthy fats, protein and vegetables.

Body-Boosting BrothIt was the dish du jour back at New York Fashion Week, and it’s the base of many of the Hemsley sisters’ (above) favourite recipes. We’re talking about bone broth, of course. The super-nourishing liquid is a fantastic source of vitamins, minerals and collagen; it is also dairy-free, gluten-free and low-calorie. No surprise then that the fashion elite is going mad for it, infusing it with superfoods such as beetroot and ginger.

of juice brings definite health benefits. ‘Your average vegetable soup contains tons of fibre, vitamins and minerals, without the high levels of natural sugar often found in fruit juices,’ she tells Look. ‘It’s not like the days

Can you actually believe it’s been three years since we were first introduced to the amazing Barden Bellas, first heard the cup song

and wished we could party with The Treblemakers? But finally, the wait is over! The pitches are back in Pitch Perfect 2, and this time they’re seniors.

After their victory at the National A cappella Championships in the last film, the Bellas are now the most successful group in Barden history – sorry Trebles – but that’s all about to change.

Feisty Beca (played by our ultimate girl crush Anna Kendrick) is now running the show, alongside the

hilarious Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) and highly strung Chloe (Brittany Snow) – plus some new pitches, who are shaking things up for the Bellas.

When their plans for another national trophy are thwarted, their only option is to take their talent on tour. And the new girls need to fall in line, like now, because they’re about to face a sing-off with new German arch rivals Das Sound Machine at the a cappella world championships. Erm, how can you not go and see this film? We’re practising our vocal exercises already just thinking about it…■ Out Friday 15 May

TheyÕre Back, Pitches! The Barden Bellas return, and this time they’re going

global. Excuse us while we scream – we’re beyond excited

Their only option is to take their talent on tour

What’s New With The Bellas?■ Who knew that Oscar-nominated Hailee Steinfeld had such a good voice? Her character Emily is about to change a cappella forever – not that she knows it!

■ Keep an eye out for Flo, the foreign exchange student from Mexico played by Chrissie Fit, who has lots of hilarious stories.

■ Beca lands an internship – but is she ever going to get the chance to do more than make coffee, and how is she going to focus on the Bellas while working?

Take It On Tour!Which Pitch Are You?We know you’re not supposed to, but everyone has a favourite – which Barden Bella girl are you most like?

Check out where the Bellas pop up in Pitch Perfect 2…

Q We’re most likely to find you…A Listening to music in a world of your own.

B Practising your harmonies– it’s your life!C Chilling poolside while hot guys bring you cocktails.

Q How would you best describe your style?

A Slick. You try to wear all black, even in summer.B Preppy and cute – you buy everything on Look’s fashion pages.C Bold and bright, because you want all eyes on you.

QWhen a guy asks you out on a date, what do you do?

A Say no. You’ve got more important things to do.B Check your social calendar first – nothing comes before your girls. C Refuse, because dates are for wimps. But then snog him.

Mostly As You’re Beca When it comes to your work, you’re totally focused and you don’t mind telling people exactly what you think. But under that hard exterior lies a softie.

Mostly BsYou’re Chloe Who cares about studying and work when you’re following your dreams of becoming a singing sensation. You would never ditch your mates for a guy and you expect everyone to be as committed as you – no excuses!

Mostly CsYou’re Fat Amy You’re a free spirit, so you find it hard to follow orders. But no one cares, because you’re amazing – and besides, they’re too busy laughing at your hilarious jokes.

Copenhagen, DenmarkCopenhagen is home to the world championships of a cappella and the biggest crowd the Bellas have ever sung for. It seems like one big party that we want to be part of.

Berlin, Germany Das Sound Machine arrive from Germany to become the Bellas’ biggest competition. Have the girls got what it takes to beat them? Atlanta, Georgia, USA

This is the home of the fictional Barden university and the location of the girls’ new sorority house. We would not like to be their neighbours.

Baton Rouge, Louisana, USAThe Baton Rouge College is the location for the Barden campus filming. And it’s actually where Anna Kendrick wanted to study before she became an actress.

Pitch Perfect: The Sing-AlongGrab your mates, warm up your vocal chords and get ready for the best night in, ever. This special new DVD features all the songs from the last film – including The Treblemakers’ biggest hits – with the actual words included. Totally pitchin’. ■ Out now

Lisa TanMilliner

l Never buy an uncomfortable hat and always make sure it’s well secured before leaving the house – there’s nothing worse than having to re-pin or restyle your hair in a packed public ladies’ bathroom.

l It may seem like a fashion faux pas, but don’t be scared to match your hat, bag and shoes together for a real statement. When I was younger, I would refuse to leave the house if my socks didn’t match my outfit. Always the perfectionist!

l Fashion shouldn’t be taken too seriously – you’ve got to have fun with it to make it work. My wardrobe is absolutely full of animal motifs, polka dots, bows and pom-poms.

Lisa’s Top Tips

Exhibiting at my frst LFW……this year was a bit of a ‘pinch me’ moment. The opportunity came about quite suddenly, but it was defnitely a career highlight.

Millinery is a sporadic business. Some weeks I could be working all night long, and in others, I might have enough downtime to get through quite a few seasons of Revenge.

My job can get quite messy……so I stick to jeans and sweaters in the workshop. But if I’m at the races, it’s a completely different story – that’s when all my best clothes get an outing.

Zara Phillips wears my hats. She has one of my headpieces and I’d love to dress her again. I’d also like to see Taylor Swift in one of my winter caps – I think they would really suit her girlie, retro style.
