A Message From the Chair
Hello all district members! I would like to thank everyone for another great
year. I’ve really enjoyed being your Chairperson and am grateful and looking
forward to another term. To say this year has been filled with mixed feelings
about our association’s legislative efforts, is an understatement. This year we
need to focus on educating the public, third party payers, referring physicians,
and our students about direct access to physical therapy and issues regarding
referral for profit. We are in the midst of healthcare change and our district
will be here to field any inquiries and help represent the growing questions
and concerns of our members. We need everyone to speak up this year so our
representatives are able to let your voices be heard. I admire everyone who
has shown their support and continued to remain members. I also admire
those of us who, when in doubt, spoke up and asked questions. I hope that
our district can continue to represent respectful debate and pro-
fessionalism. When in doubt, remember we all have the same goal in mind
and that is to be able to provide the best available care for our patients. Happy

Melissa Brose and Silverton Nguyen each received the Rising Star Award at this year’s CPTA Conference. Melissa is currently serving as our Vice Chair and Silverton holds two positions as a Nominating Committee member and our District Member Services Liaison. We greatly appreciate all their hard work!

Happy holidays and thank you everyone for another great year in the LBSB district! On be-
half of the executive committee, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing exec-
utive committee members for their service to the LBSB district as they finish out their terms
in office: Erin Caudill – Secretary
Joan Jacobs – Nominating Committee
Lori Woodruff – Nominating Committee
Their tireless efforts, often going above and beyond their officer positions, have been an in-
spiration for all us. We look forward to their continued involvement at the district, state,
and national levels as they go on to serve in the association in different capacities!
With that, I’d also like to thank all those who consented to serve for positions in our most
