The Truly AmazingNatural Island

Wehave adream to visit AngthongNationalMarineParkwhichhasagroupof islandswithcrystalgreenclearwater inSuratThaniProvinceaswesaw from the informationandpic-turethat includingMuKohWuaTalabislandinKohAngthongMarineNationalPark.Thesebeautifulislandsinspireustovisitthereonceinourentirelife.Aswehaveheardfromothervisitorsthatit isnoteasywaytoreachtheviewpoint.Wehadtowalkthrough the roughandcrookedway for500meters.Onsomeroute,thereisonlyaropetoclimbuptothehighestlevel.Butwhenwe reached theviewpoint,we faced thebeautifulpano-ramicviewsofthepark.Andit’sreallyworthsomuch.

Aftersearchingfortravelinformation,wefoundthatweneedtostopatSamuifirstandbuyaone-daytripticket.Thepriceoftheone-daytripis1,500Bahtnetincludingbreakfast,lunch,softdrinksandtwo-wayshuttlebusservicefromTravelAgency.WetookavanofffromtheresorttotheNhaThonPierandthespeedboatleavesonceadayatapproximately8.30a.m.IttakesonlytwohourstoKohWuaTalab,theHeadquarterofMarineNationalPark.

We planned to stay there for a nightandwealreadybooked for a reservation.Therearenoresortsandstoresonthena-tionalpark–onlyafewnationalparkbun-galowsavailabletostaythere.Theelectric-ity on the island starts at 6.00p.m. to 11p.m. Afterwearrived to thebungalow inthemorning,wewalkedunderthecoconuttressalongthepeacefulbeach.

After we went for a walk along thebeach,it’stimetoclimbuptotheviewpointfor500meters.Thedistanceisnottoofarbut there is no stairway. There is only aropetoguideusawayandpullourselvesuptherethroughtheroughlimestonerocksandway.Wehadwalkedfor50meters,wemetthefirstviewpoint–wesawonlytheseabelowandalineofcoconuttrees.Ittakesashortclimbtothefirstviewpointeasily.Thisis just thefirstviewpoint;wehave thede-sirestoreachthetop.

We continued walking to the secondviewpoint for 150 meters. We saw somenearby islands. It’s really amazing. Wecouldn’tstopwalkingahead. Wewant tofindouthowbeautifulitis.

Ittakes350meterstothethirdviewpoint.Wedidnotstoptotakethephotostherebecausetheskywasnotclear.Wewalkedthroughthesteepandroughway.Wedidnotgiveupandcon-tinuedwalkingtothelastdestination.Wecouldreachthetopby30minutes.It’sexhaustingbutit’sstillworthit.Wecouldseethegreenlagoonandamarvelousgroupofislandsaswesawfromtourism guide brochure. The camera’s shutters were pressedagainandagain in thesameangle.We justwant tokeep thismomentaslongaspossible.Thisisreallyamazinghiddenhide-awayinThailand.

Onthewaydown,westoppedat the third viewpoint we saw onegroup was kayaking on the side.This viewpoint is similar to the topviewpoint.

Wehappilygotbacktothebun-galowandsleptwithoutwaking.Wewoke up in the early morning. Wesaw the beautiful bright white skyoutside.Italldidnotseemlikeyes-terday at all.We decided to climbuptothesecondviewpointenoughtokeepthebeautifulscenicphotos.

ThenwewentbacktowalkalongthebeachagainandwaitedforthespeedboatwhichtookustoLagoon,MaeKohisland.It’srelievingtolookatthecoconutleavesblowinginthewindandkayakalongthecoastline.

For thosewhobuy the one-daytripticket,theycanenjoysnorkeling,swimmingandkayakingwithalotoffishesandcoralreefs.Allridersneedtolearnkayakingbasicguidance.

After we spent a couple hourswalkingaroundWuaTalabisland,wewentbacktobungalowandtookourluggageandtooka long-tailboat tothecruisewhichhadbuffetlunchonboard. It takes15minutesand thenwearrivedonMaeKohIslandwheretheinnersaltlakeandamazingemer-aldsaltwaterislocated.

Onthewaywewalkedtothetopofthecliff,wecouldseetheemeraldlagoonsurroundingbycomplicatedtress.Wereachedthelakebyclimbingtheladdersafter20-minutewalk.It’seasytoclimbupanddownbytakingstairs.

Reachedafterclimbing,it’svividgreenseawaterandsurround-edbysteepcliffs.Wespentawhiletakingphotosoftheemeraldgreenwaterofthehiddenlagoon.Wecouldseesandybeachesinthesouthandtheeastoftheisland.Theselakesareinblue-greencolorbecauseofthesaltsandmineralsinthem.Itlooksveryclear.ThisisoneofthemostamazingsightsinThailand.
