    Why the Lok Jack GSB?

     After my four-year stint in South Africa, the offer from Lok Jack GSB was truly a God-sent opportunity for me to comparemy experience and understand how different geographicaland socio-political systems inuence the formation ofentrepreneurial and managerial behavior of people. I nd mystudents at Lok Jack GSB very inquisitive and my interactionwith them has been a real pleasure for me.

    CARRILLO

    Professor Miguel Carrillo has vast experience in academiaand industry, with his main areas of focus being innovationand strategy. He has had a distinguished career spanningover 21 years in 12 different countries and three languagesHe has held the positions of Strategy Professor, Western NewEngland College, Massachusetts and Dean of the School ofBusiness, Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores deMonterrey (ITEC), Mexico.

    He was Director of the Miami Campus at Adolfo Ibanez

    School of Management, Florida, and before that was Headof the Innovation Centre and Professor at MidwesternState University, Wichita, Texas. He has also consulted withMcKinsey Management Consulting rm and was FinanceDirector at Hewlett Packard (Mexico). In June 2009, he wasappointed Executive Director of the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate

    School of Business.

    Professor Abhijit Bhattacharya’s main areas ofinterest are entrepreneurship, innovation, creativitymanagement and business strategy. He has a PhD(Economics) and an MSc (Physics and Mathematics),from the Patrice Lumumba University, Moscow.

    Previously he was the Dean of Globsyn BusinessSchool, Ahmedabad; Director, Asian Institute ofFamily Business; Nirma University of Scienceand Technology; and has taught in several otherUniversities worldwide. He also writes extensively inmany international journals.

    At present, Andre Taitt serves as Lecturer for theFinancial and Management Accounting coursesfor the Executive MBA and the International MBAprogrammes at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate Schoolof Business.

    He is also a senior Consultant for The Hada Groupand holds a Master of Science in Accounting, a BSc.in Management Studies and is a Certied Internal

    Auditor. He previously worked at Epicor SoftwareCompany, The Power Generation Company ofTrinidad and Tobago and at PCS Nitrogen Limited.

    Balraj Kistow is a lecturer at the Arthur Lok JackGraduate School of Business. He teaches courses inCaribbean and International Business Management,Financial Management and Accounting in theInternational Master of Business Administration(IMBA) programme. He is also the ProgrammeDirector for the Master of Small and MediumEnterprise Management (MSMEM).

    He holds an MSc and BSc in Management Studies,The University of the West Indies and is pursuing theDoctor of Business Administration programme at theLok Jack GSB.

    Dr. Camille Samuel is currently an IndeManagement Consultant and a Lecturer at the Art

     Jack Graduate School of Business and The Univethe West Indies, St. Augustine Campus.

    She is also a Researcher for Market Facts and Opinfor AkInsights, Advanced Feminist EpistemolResearch Methods (Institute of Gender and DeveStudies, UWI, St. Augustine); Communication SkResearch Methods (Land and Surveying DepaUWI, St. Augustine) and is also a Thesis Su– Masters students (University of AmsterdaNetherlands). Dr. Samuel holds a PhD in CTurnaround Leadership and Gender, The Univ

    the West Indies, and holds an MBA (Distinction) fMaastricht School of Management, Maastricht.

    Carl Carillo is the Managing Director and PConsultant of People Issues Ltd., a member of theResource Management Association of TrinidTobago (HRMATT) and is certied in the PROSCmanagement methodologies and tools. He is alstime lecturer at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate SBusiness in the Master of Human Resource Mana(MHRM) and the International Master of BAdministration (IMBA) programmes.

    He also has thirty-seven years experience in toil industry in all major divisions and holds Organisational Behaviour from the UniverLondon, BSc Natural Sciences (Chemistry and InChemistry) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in ManaStudies from The University of the West Indies.

    Charles Baisden is presently the Senior MPresident’s Ofce, of the National Gas CompTrinidad and Tobago. He is also a part-time lecThe University of the West Indies and the Arthur LGraduate School of Business.

    He boasts intimate knowledge and involvemprofessional and managerial levels, in various asthe petroleum industry, both upstream and downfor over thirty (30) years. He also has 28 years texperience and holds an MBA in Finance, OpManagement, MIS in Decision Sciences, UniveWestern Ontario (Canada), 1982, and a Post-gDiploma (Degree) in Petroleum Engineering.

    Conrad Enill is an international advisor on nancial andenergy analysis and strategy with policy background atthe organisational, national and international levels. Heis also a lecturer at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School ofBusiness in the MBA in Sustainable Energy Managementprogramme.

    He has extensive experience in joint international projectsand joint projects with United States government agenciesand initiatives. Some of his roles have included: Governorfor the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Chair of thethe IMF G24, Head of Delegation for the CommonwealthFinance Ministers and Representative to a major recentWorld Council of Credit Unions Caribbean Development

    Education initiative, Governor for the World Bank, theInternational Development Association and for theMultilateral Investment Guarantee Agency.

    Curt Wellington has been a consultant with the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business for the past eight years.

    He is the holder of a Post-Graduate Diploma in HumanResource Management and an Executive MBA from theLok Jack GSB. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctorate ofBusiness Administration through the Arthur Lok JackGraduate School of Business, University of the WestIndies.

    Curt has also been trained in Rural Industry Promotion forDeveloping Economies at the National Institute for RuralDevelopment in Hyderabad, India, and was certied asa Trainer in Small Business Management by the Inter-American Institute for Co-operation in Agriculture.

    Dale Prescott is an Information Technology Managerwithin the Public Service. He lectures for theInternational MBA programme at the Arthur Lok JackGraduate School of Business.

    His credentials include an MBA specialising inInnovation and Entrepreneurship and a BSc inComputing and Information Systems from the

    University of London.

    Dave Smith is the Director of Communicatithe National Union of Government and FeWorkers and also lectures at the Arthur LoGraduate School of Business.

    Francis Lewis is the Principal ConsultanConsulting Limited. He is also curreCommissioner of Trinidad & Tobago SecuritExchange Commission and a Director on theof ISKO Enterprises Limited and Caribbean ScDancing.

    He has worked in several local and interncompanies at the senior management level, anan MBA from Harvard Business School, Bachelor and Associate degrees magna cumwith dual majors in Management and MarkUniversity of Pennsylvania, The Wharton Philadelphia.

    Dr. Gour C. Saha is the Professor and Director of theCentre for Business Analytics and Intelligence at theArthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business andis also the vice-president of Global Business andManagement Forum (GBMF), USA.

    He has more than 22 years experience in teachingand academic leadership in India and Thailand andreceived his PhD in Technology Management from theAsian Institute of Technology, Thailand. He holds anMBA from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, an MSin Computer Information Systems from AssumptionUniversity of Thailand, a Bachelor in Statistics from

    Academy of Statistics in Indonesia and is published inseveral well-known international journals.

    Dr. Gwendoline Williams for the period 2006-2009 wasappointed as the sole Caribbean representative to theUnited Nations 24-member Council of Experts on PublicAdministration (CEPA), a sub-committee of the UN’sEconomic and Social Council.

    Apart from delivering training programmes, she wasa member of several project consulting teams forregional and international organisations, including: theCaribbean Community Secretariat (CARICOM), UNDP,

    UNESCO, CARICAD, the Commonwealth Secretariat,the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU),the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), the WorldBank and the British Council (DFID).

    Haven Allahar has worked for 38 years in Trinidad andTobago in the area of economic and business developmentand project planning, serving the Ministry of Planningand Development as a Project Analyst and the PointLisas Industrial Port Development Corporation asDivisional Manager, Project Management Services. He

    was the founding Chief Executive of the Small BusinessDevelopment Company in 1990 and the rst ChiefExecutive of the Urban Development Corporation in 1995.

    With 28 years teaching experience, his specic interests arein processes involved in developing creativity, innovationand entrepreneurship. He holds a BSc Economics (UWI)and in Business Administration (Ryerson U), MA inManagement Organisational Leadership, AmericanPublic University (USA), 2010; and an MSc Management,La Salle University (USA), 1995.

    Senator Drayton was appointed an Independent in November 2007 and is a Marketing ConsultBoard Member of SERVOL. She has spent tweyears with RBTT Financial Group, from 1976 to 1from 1988 to 2006 - where she held executive pof Director Group Human Resources, DirectorMarketing and Corporate Communications, aa member of the Board of Directors of RBTTCompany, RBTT Bank Limited, RBTT Security LRBTT Services Limited and Banc Assurance Limitalso held the position of President of ROYTEC.

    Howard Dottin has been in the nancial eld for over30 years, with signicant experience in tax banking,insurance and treasury management. Currently thehead of the Economics and Finance SAG at Lok JackGSB and the Chairman of the North Central RegionalHealth Authority, his credentials include a fellowshipof the Chartered Association of Certied Accountantsand an Executive MBA from the Arthur Lok JackGraduate School of Business.

    He has worked as Chief Financial Ofcer in two ofTrinidad & Tobago’s premier nancial institutions,and as an auditor in a top auditing rm and the Board

    of Inland Revenue. He is also the Programme Directorfor the Master of Science in International Finance(MSc IF) programme at the Lok Jack GSB.

    Mr. Chinapoo is the Managing Director, InvestmentBanking with FirstCaribbean International Bank Ltd.He has signicantly contributed to the structuring andexecution of various transactions during his years withFirstCaribbean.

    He has 15 years experience overall in InvestmentBanking in the Caribbean and Central Americanregion, working previously with Citigroup as Business

    Head for The Bahamas and Senior Transactor, DebtCapital Markets and M&A in the Miami regional ofce.

     Janet Peters is currently the General Manager, PSCUCredit Union and lectures and facilitates courses at theArthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business.

    She was once a Director of Finance and Administrationfor the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago, Ag.

    Vice President, Finance and Administration, CorporateSecretary and Legal Ofcer of the College of Science,Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago(COSTAATT). She was also a Business Analyst at theMinistry of Finance; a Budget Analyst in the Ministry ofFinance, Investments Division and a Lead Consultant tothe Association of Caribbean States. She holds a Masterin Public Sector Management, UWI Mona, in conjunctionwith Monash University, Australia and London School ofEconomics; an LLB from the University of London and a

    BA History and Management.

    A business consultant, lecturer and author, Dr. Fehas conducted management and leadership in several companies and organisations throthe Eastern Caribbean. He holds a Doctor in BAdministration from the University of B(England) and is the Honorary Consul for SpaiVincent and the Grenadines. He received the MerCruz (Civil Order Cross) from Spain’s King Juan for outstanding service to the government and pSpain in his capacity as Honorary Consul.

    He is the former Chief Executive Ofcer of East CaGroup of Companies and has also represented thesector on the Organisation of Eastern Caribbea

    Keith Thomas is currently Executive in Residence at theArthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business wherehis focus is on Experiential Learning, Leadership andBusiness Intelligence and Analytics.

    Mr. Thomas was a Group Senior Vice President, Executiveand Investment Committees’ member of one of theleading conglomerates in the Caribbean Chairman of theInformation Technology & Communications BusinessUnit of said conglomerate, as well as CEO of companiesfor over 19 years. He has also served on the Universityof Trinidad & Tobago’s ICT Programme’s AdvisoryCommittee; represented the Trinidad & Tobago Chamberof Industry & Commerce on the Cabinet-appointed

    eBusiness Roundtable and GATE Standing Committee; aswell as Chaired industry committees, Public sector boardsand community organisations. Mr. Thomas is the holderof a Henley MBA and a BSc (Math) from UWI.

    Mrs. Salamat-Ali is a Lecturer and Programme Directorfor the Master of Marketing Programme at the ArthurLok Jack Graduate School of Business since 2007.

    She received her bachelor’s from The University ofthe West Indies and a Master of Marketing from theArthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, and ispresently pursuing her doctoral degree in Marketing.

    She possesses a wealth of experience in Marketing,having spent more than ten years in the pharmaceuticalindustry. She is currently a consultant and hasconducted numerous workshops in customer service,and is also a partner with IBB Limited and an Associatewith the Service Quality Institute of Minneapolis.

    Patrick Vincent is an accomplished PetroleumEconomist and Commercial Manager with a deepand comprehensive understanding of the oil andgas industry. He is currently the Upstream StrategySpecialist at Petrotrin, the state-owned intergrated oilcompany.

    Patrick teaches in the areas of Project EconomicEvaluation and Risk-Analysis and Decision-Making.He is the Managing Director of this own company,Experture and has been a Faculty Member with theLok Jack GSB since January 2009.

    Paula Thomas is a member of the Human RManagement Association of Trinidad and Tobthe Trinidad & Tobago Association of PsychShe also lectures at the Arthur Lok Jack GSchool of Business.

    She holds an MS Industrial and OrganPsychology from the Florida International UnMiami, BSc Psychology and Sociology, The Unof the West Indies, Trinidad, Postgraduate in Marketing, Chartered Institute of MarketinHigher Group Diploma, Marketing from theChamber of Commerce and Industry.

    Rainier Bisnath has seven years of teaching exand holds an International MBA with a specialiMarketing from the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate SBusiness, where he is also a lecturer in the InterMBA and Master of Marketing programmes.

    His last posting was at Neal and MassyLimited, where he held the position of Sector Mresponsible for marketing the company’s Exp

    and Production services.

    Mr. Richard Ramsawak is Programme DirectorMaster of Port Management Programme at

     Jack GSB. He has signicant experience desigimplementing various private sector devinitiatives domestically and internationally.

    He has coordinated the development of nationalplans for the Food and Beverage, Seafood and Industries of Trinidad and Tobago. He also theand executed the First Regional Forum onDevelopment which was held last year in TrinTobago. Mr. Ramsawak was former Vice Chathe Cabinet Appointed Food and Beverage Development Committee and Director of the Industry Development Company ofTrinidad and Tobago.

    Richard Trotman currently sits on the board of FlavoriteFoods Limited. He is a member of the Institute ofChartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago andis also a Course Lecturer in Finance, Accounting andEntrepreneurship at the Arthur Lok Jack GraduateSchool of Business.

    He holds both a BSc and MSc Degrees in Accountingfrom The University of the West Indies and has servedas an academic tutor in Accounting and FinancialManagement at that institution. In July 2003, hecompleted the Advanced Management Programmeat the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. In

    May 2007, he completed the LLM Degree in Corporateand Commercial Law at UWI.

    Dr. Ron Sookram leads the Corporate Responsibilityportfolio at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School ofBusiness, and lectures in the Doctor of Business inAdministration (DBA), Executive Masters in BusinessAdministration (EMBA), International Masters inBusiness Administration (IMBA), and Masters inInternational Finance (MSc Finance) programmes atthe Lok Jack GSB.

    Prior to joining the Lok Jack GSB, Ron was aSenior Research Specialist for CSR and SustainableDevelopment at the South Trinidad Chamber ofIndustry and Commerce (STCIC), and played a keyrole in designing, executing and producing the UNDP/STCIC National CSR Mapping Project of Trinidad &Tobago.

    Stephen Sheppard is the Assistant Vice President,Student Affairs, The University of Trinidad and Tobago,November 2007 to present and currently lectures at theArthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business in theMaster of Human Resource Management programme.

    He is also a Member of Human Resource ManagementAssociation of Trinidad and Tobago and Society forHuman Resource Management, USA.

    Sterling Frost is currently a lecturer at the Arth Jack Graduate School of Business and a part-timeat The University of the West Indies. He is alPresident, Human Resources, Citibank TrinidTobago Ltd.

    Previously Sterling Frost held positions such aManager Human Resources, Head of Sales andfor Republic Bank Limited, Executive DirectorBrewery Limited, Assistant General Manager, ThBank of Trinidad and Tobago Limited and also at the Royal Bank of Canada.     Subash Jahorie is currently a Lubrication EngiConsultant with TOSL Engineering LimiteSouthern United Agencies Company Limited Group of Companies). He is also a Vibration certied by the Vibration Institute, Illinois,and the Technical Manager of LubriCon ConsServices.

    of Business in 2006 and teaches in the B& Industrial Marketing module of the MaMarketing programme. He holds his Post-GDiploma from the Chartered Institute of Maand a Master of Marketing from the Arthur LGraduate School of Business, where he recdistinction award.

    After graduating from The University West Indies, Wynette spent seven years tbefore embarking on a career in Human RManagement. She is now the Programme Dfor the Master of Human Resource Manaprogramme at the Lok Jack GSB. She has worcorporate clients in the private and public seTrinidad and Tobago and in the region.
